A/N Uh... Have fun. Just remember... I love you guys <3
Y/N POV
When I woke up it took me a few seconds to realize that last night wasn't a dream. I was in Nat's room but there was no Natasha. On the edge of the bed, there was a stack of her clothes laid out for me and a bottle of water. It was later than I would normally wake up but I was still very tired. So rolling straight out of bed to get changed was difficult, but I didn't want to overstay my welcome. Plus, I think I really had to talk with her.
She was sitting on the couch with a coffee mug in her hand and she was reading a book. She looked absolutely stunning as she sat there, the sun streaming through the windows behind. She looked amazing all the time but something has changed and she looks that much better in my eyes.
She doesn't look up as I walk into the room instead she slowly turns a page of the book. I clear my throat hoping to get her attention but she doesn't move. "Uh... Hi."
She glances at me over the edge of the book, "Morning. Food is on the stove it you want any eggs."
Her voice surprises me. She sounds... bored. "Thanks," I mutter as I walk over as I make myself a plate. I sit down at the counter to eat as I watch her read. Whenever she turns a page she takes a sip of coffee.
Once I'm done eating I sit across from her and she slowly glances at me. "Yes?" She questions and I bite at the inside of my cheek.
"I think we should talk." I press and she hums as she places the book down.
"About what?" She asks and I widen my eyes at her.
"Look, I don't mind waking up alone. I'm not upset. I just think we need to know what comes next." I lean forward and she purses her lips.
"Nothing comes next." She answers and my heart drops.
"What?" I ask and she leans back into the couch.
"That was a one-time thing. For me at least." She reached for her book but I placed my hand over it, making her look at me.
"What do you mean?" I asked, desperation creeping into my voice.
"I'm sorry, Y/N. I can't have a relationship right now. I'm not in the right place." She tries to explain and I slowly pull my hand off her book to lean back into the couch.
"I don't understand... Everyone told me I should go for it." I explain and she sighs.
"I don't do relationships, Y/N." She says and I force myself to look at her.
"Last night you seemed to want something more than just one night." I press. "Like if we did that everything would change."
"And everything has changed." She nods and I shake my head.
"Natasha don't do this. You're just scared of-"
"I'm not scared of anything!" Her voice raises and I flinch backward a bit at her sudden anger. "I tried to say this nicely, Y/N. But the truth is you aren't as interesting as I thought you might be. The chase was much better than the catch. Now that I had my fun, I'm done. I got what I wanted."
I study her face, begging for there to be some kind of sign she was lying. Maybe this was all a joke. But her face doesn't tell me anything. "Oh..." I clench my jaw as I stand up.
"At least it was fun." Nat shrugs and I can't even look at her so I turn away to head to my room. Her clothes suddenly burned at my skin.
"You're just the same stuck-up person I thought you were," I say over my shoulder and she raises an eyebrow at me. "If you ever change, let me know."
