Getting to Another Day

I crawled through a desert of memories,
swam through an ocean of misery,
sank my teeth in an apple of bitter sweet love,
forced myself through the small entry way of forgiveness,
and threw away the key to my happiness.

All to see
another day,

without you.

I wish you happiness,
among other things.
For my memory
still sings,
a broken tune

of our love.
