Algebra class had ended a bit ago, and now Denki was in hero training. Today, they had a joint training exercise with 1B. Each student in 1A would be paired with a student in 1B, and then they would spar against another team of students paired the same way.
It would have been pretty cool, but of course with Denki's luck, he was paired with Monoma. Monoma was an asshole to almost everybody in 1A, but he was especially rude to Kaminari. Why that was, the blonde didn't know. All he knew was that being paired with Monoma would make his already shitty day even worse. Hooray.
Each group would take turns sparring while the rest of the two classes watched. Some battles took quite awhile, while others went pretty quickly. It hadn't yet been announced who he and Monoma were going up against, which was making the blonde anxious. He just really hoped it wouldn't be that girl with the vine hair- he really didn't want the humiliating events from the sports festival to repeat themselves.

Pretty soon though, it was their turn. He heard his and Monoma's names called and following theirs were... Pony Tsunotori and Hanta Sero. Okay, okay, not too terrible. He didn't know much abouts Ponys quirk, but he was pretty familiar with Hanta's. Hopefully this would go okay.
The two groups exited the observation room and made their way to the training arena. Once they arrived and made it over to their individual starting positions, everyone fell into some sort of fighting stance. A voice over the loudspeakers explained the rules, and then began counting down.

"Three, t..."

Suddenly, Denki was on the ground, pinned down by... horns? Wait, when did he get on the ground? The blonde sporadically glanced around himself, trying to figure out what the hell was going on. And right before his eyes, he watched as Monoma tap out of the hold Sero had him in. Sero immediately released Monoma, a victorious grin plastered on his face. Denki watched Sero as he walked over to Pony and gave her a high-five, celebrating their apparent win.
The blonde quickly noticed a very pissed looking Monoma hovering over him, a murderous glare on his face. "What the fuck was that?!" He spat at Denki. The blonde winced at the venomous tone, still extremely confused as to what was going on. "The- The countdown never finished?" Denki stuttered. Obviously it had, but the blonde hadn't heard it.
"God, you are insufferable! What the fuck is wrong with you?!" Monama yelled. "You just made us loose the round in record time! How are you even in the hero course?!" Denki's eyes stung with unshed tears. Apparently they were somewhat visible, as Monoma scoffed when they appeared. "God, you're pathetic. How could Shinsou ever love someone like you?" Monama said this lowly, not wanting anyone to really overhear. Not like many could though- the observation room had no audio.
Sero heard though, and he wanted to say something. He was about to, but they were called back to the observation room before he could. He thought about telling Aizawa, but he decided against it. If it bothered Denki, he would probably tell Aizawa himself.
Later, he would regret not mentioning it to anybody.

Eventually, class was over, and lunch was next. The Bakusquad (plus Shinsou) all met up outside the locker-rooms usually so they could walk to the lunchroom together. But today, Denki didn't show up. Hitoshi was about to go search for the blonde when he received a message in the Bakusquad group chat.

Pikachu: 'hey guys, im gonna be late to lunch'
Pikachu: 'head to lunch without me'
Pikachu: 'ill see yall soon, dont have too much fun without me ;)'

Hitoshi just shot back a quick 'k' before the group headed out to the lunchroom. None of them gave much of a second thought to his temporary absence- everyone had to skip lunch every once in a while, it wasn't that odd.
Maybe they should have thought about it. The act by itself didn't seem that odd, but if you thought about Denki's strange behavior that day, paired with his sudden mood drop after the training session, it would be cause for some concern.

Meanwhile, Kaminari was still in the locker-room. He was already dressed, and there was seemingly no reason to stay behind. At least, not from an outsider's perspective. To the blonde, he had to stay behind- there wasn't any other options. Not if he wanted his friends to not leave him. (They would never leave him, but Denki didn't think that. People had left him for this before, why wouldn't they now?)
Kaminari could hear a light buzzing sound. It wasn't actually there, and he knew that. His vision was all messed up, zigzags floating throughout his sight. And he felt hot- so, so hot. He was sweating more than usual, and he hated it. He hated this. All of it. Why couldn't he just be normal?
He desperately wanted to head to his dorm room, but he couldn't risk it. He would be around people then, and they might see. They would judge. At least here, he was alone.

Or, at least he thought so.
