The wind whistled in my ears as I clung onto Oldie Eye's back, the weather had become calmer as we got further away from the bar. I had never been on a motorcycle before and I've got to admit it was pretty awesome ( it wouldn't have been better if it hadn't been pitch black). But not awesome enough to fully distract me from worrying. As we zoomed past trees in the dark I couldn't help but think about the future. I knew that Oldie eyes could be trusted but I didn't know anything about the place he planned to take me. He hadn't said anything since he told me to get on the motorcycle. Which was fine, I was used to silences and I think we were both more comfortable without awkward small talk, but I was curious. "So....where are we going?" I asked, raising my voice so it could be heard.
"I told you," replied Oldie Eyes " it's a place for people like you." I groaned.
"What kind of place? A bunker for mutants to hide in? A cave in the woods? A house? You are being really vague dude."
"It's a school." I groaned again louder. "With little kids?....." I asked hopeful.
"All ages. Children, teenagers..."
I sagged on the motorbike. "Maybe you could leave me on the side of the road then....," I said sighing, " I'm not good with....my peer group."
" Or people in general" I added mumbling. I heard a quiet chuckle. "Hey bub, that is not funny. We can't all be a Mr-I-don't-care-badass." I said huffily. We sat for another moment of silence. " Just out of morbid curiosity what were those metal things coming out of your hands? How did you....you know get them." I asked.
I could see him tense at the question.
"That's none of your business." He growled. I gulped at the ferocity in his voice. Wow. That hit a nerve.
"Anyway...uh tell me more about my new hell...I mean school." I said filling the tense silence.
I got no reply so simply stared at the dark road lit up by the motorcycles light as we zoomed along.

We travelled all through the night. I was so relieved to see the first rays of sun creep over the horizon and begin to light the sky. I was tired of staring at darkness. Mr Oldie Eyes had remained silent all through the journey, so when he actually did speak my heart missed a beat, shocked from the change from silence.
"Almost there.....you know I never did ask your name kid."
He sounded less angry, which was a huge improvement.
"You still haven't asked." I replied smirking. I heard him groan.
"Kid you really are something. What is your name then."
"Well first I'm not a kid and the names Hailey. What's yours Mr badass."
"The names," he hesitated. "The names Logan." I smiled. No quite the name I was expecting.
"I think Mr Badass is better."
At that moment I'm sure I caught him smile.I'm so sorry 😅 I am terrible for updating. I am gonna to try to get the next chapter up soon but for now here's a little interaction between Hailey and Logan.
I also gotta ask am I getting his character right? If not some tips would be greatly appreciated ☺️
