"Their First Sunset"

As the clock struck nine,M/N was in his room - eating his salad and doing research about the criminal court.Joshua checked on him since he thought that he was already asleep "You're still awake?",M/N turned to him "Yeah,I always sleep around ten o'clock".Joshua sighed "You know,you should be sleeping earlier.You're just a year from becoming an adult,sleep is very important when you're twenty years old",M/N waved his hand "I'm still young,I'll be fine~".Joshua quickly went to him and turned the PC off "Even though,you're sleeping early tonight",M/N pouted "Let me finish my salad then,hyung".Joshua gave him a blunt stare "The bowl is literally empty,let's get you to bed or else.I won't be scared to force you,mister",M/N walked to the bed in defeat and laid down.Joshua tucked him in and sweetly pat his head "Sleep tight,my little baby",M/N rolled his eyes and turned away "Just go,will you?".The older let out a shallow breath before leaving the room,on the other hand,the younger's head was filled with annoyed thoughts as he stared out the window.

However,Seungcheol and Jeonghan couldn't sleep since they were worried about M/N being by himself.They sat up before they let out sighs,Seungcheol looked at Jeonghan "So,which one of us will sleep next to him?".Jeonghan fixed his hair "I'll do it,don't worry",he left the room and Seungcheol went back to sleep.On the other hand,Jeonghan carefully opened the door to M/N's room.He sneaked in and closed the door silently,he checked on M/N and froze when he saw him turn around.The boy was confused "Is something wrong,dad?",the other bit his lip shyly as he rubbed his neck "I couldn't help but get worried that you're sleeping line,I decided to sleep next to you to ease my worries".M/N sighed but accepted his fate,it wasn't long for Jeonghan had him in his arms and M/N's head was laying on his chest.The older rubbed his back as he hummed softly,the younger felt drowsiness take over him and slowly fell asleep.Jeonghan could feel the change and softly smiled,he kissed the top of his head sweetly "Good night,little one".He fell asleep as well once sleepiness took over him,he laid his head right by M/N's and had the lucky advantage to wake up to his gifted son's face.

TIMESKIP

The moment M/N's four o'clock alarm rung,Jeonghan woke up in slight shock.He composed himself and went to turn it off,he looked at M/N's peaceful face and couldn't help but smile.He kissed his forehead but didn't notice that he was already awake,M/N rubbed his eyes "H-hm?".Jeonghan looked at him "Already up?".The boy nodded and sat up "I have my five o'clock jog,dad",the other crossed his arms "No wonder you have an alarm for four o'clock".M/N fixed his hair and went off the bed,he walked out as Jeonghan followed from behind.He cheekily hugged him and kissed his cheek "Can we just stay at the kitchen rather than you go have your jog by yourself,hm?",M/N shook his head "Not gonna happen,dad".He got Jeonghan's arms off his waist and walked down the stairs swiftly,he disappeared into the kitchen which left Jeonghan by himself.Being a rather playful person,he stealthily went in and watched him make breakfast for himself.He sneaked closer to check what he was making and pouted when he saw what it was "You're making a chicken and egg sandwich for breakfast?Aren't you gonna eat rice?",M/N shook his head "You gotta sacrifice things to be healthy,dad.If I were to make brown rice,I'd probably have three bowls of that for breakfast".Jeonghan stood up and went to tell Seungcheol about what he just heard,on the other hand,M/N couldn't tell there was trouble coming for him.

As he was eating his sandwich,he saw Mingyu walk in with fire in his eyes "Woah,hyung.Did you get into a fight with someone?".Seungcheol appeared by his side "I think you owe us an explanation,a very big one if I need to be honest",M/N knew what they were talking about and let out a sigh "Look,I try very hard to keep myself fit and healthy.Plus,it's not my cheat day yet".He finished the last morsel of his sandwich and stood up,Wonwoo got his wrist before he pulled him back "Woah there,where do you think you're going?".M/N gave him a blunt stare "To my room,I can't wear slippers while jogging",he walked off as they stood in defeat.Jeonghan sat down on a chair and rubbed his temples "Ah...I really thought he'd be intimidated,he sure has some thick skin",Seungcheol pat his shoulder "Don't worry,he'll be fine".They heard footsteps and saw M/N,their eyes went to his shoes and the sight of the tattered pair made their heart jolt.Chan ran to him and stopped him in his tracks "Hey,you're going jogging in those shoes?",M/N nodded "It's the only pair I have,hyung.I have no choice but to wear them until they don't fit me anymore".Chan shook his head "You are not wearing those,I'm getting out our old shoes.There might be a pair that fits you,I hope",he sat M/N down and quickly rushed to the basement.Jeonghan went to him and looked at the shoes he was wearing "How long have you had those?",M/N rubbed his neck "Five years,if I remember well enough".Jeonghan took his hand and held it sweetly "If everything you own has been in your possession for longer than two years,that means it's time to throw them away.Anyway,you're a part of a new family now.We'll buy you everything you need,well,except the clothes you wore yesterday",M/N let out a shallow breath and was about to speak before he heard rushing steps.He saw a widely smiling Chan and knew he was gonna be not moving an inch from where he was sitting for a long time.

After what seemed to be a long witch hunt for shoes,M/N had Wonwoo's old sneakers that were still in mint condition.He walked to the door before he heard someone call his name,Woozi went to him and pat his head "Be careful out there,okay?".M/N gave him a nod "Don't worry,hyung",he walked out the house bravely but Woozi still had worry lingering in his head.He simply dismissed it and walked to the couch,he threw himself onto it and put his arms behind his head "I'll have a little more sleep,if anyone doesn't mind".Mingyu rushed to him and quickly became the reason why Woozi couldn't have any time to himself,on the other hand,M/N was casually jogging as the cool early morning wind blew.He was glad that no one was around and checked his watch from time-to-time to see how much progress he had,however,he knew that he had to go back into a family that overly cared for him.

Around 6:10,the boys were happily eating before they heard the door open.M/N walked in while panting,he kicked his shoes off and threw himself on the couch "Ah...that was tiring".Wonwoo went to him with a cup of cold water in his hands "Seems like you really tired yourself,huh?",M/N got it and drank everything quickly "Yes,I did.Can you give me one mug of cold water,hyung?I'm really dried out,believe me".Wonwoo pat his head "Don't worry,I'll go get that for you",he went back to the kitchen and returned with a whole mug filled with water.M/N drank from it before seeing Jeonghan walk to him,the other sat next to him and pat his head "You okay?".The boy nodded as he put the mug on the coffee table "I feel a bit fatigued and heavy,but I'm not hurt".Jeonghan softly laughed and pinched his cheeks "You're such a cutie,aren't you?~",M/N shyly smiled "I mean,I guess~".Jeonghan's stare turned serious at an instant "Did you just insult yourself in front of me?",M/N gulped "N-n-no?".Without hesitation,Jeonghan tickled him which led to a chase.He pulled his wrist as he smirked teasingly "You're not going anywhere until you take back what you said,mister",M/N's face was painted with confusion "T-t-that wasn't even a self-deprecating joke,dad!"Jeonghan got him in his arms and lifted him up "It is to me,so take it back or else",M/N easily got down and ran away but was still caught once again.It took a couple tries for him to finally take his words back and Jeonghan let him out,M/N quickly went to his room to be free from his playful father but Jeonghan was honestly glad he managed to spend time with him for just a swift while.As M/N was fixing his hair,Minghao went in and hugged him from behind "Yah,aren't you gonna have a shower yet?".M/N turned to him "I was about to,why?",Minghao smiled "Well,I was planning to let you borrow my old clothes so you have something to wear while shopping today then I remembered that we take long as a family to get ready".M/N got out his hold and grabbed his towel "Well,I'll be going then",he casually walked out but Minghao didn't take it as an offense.He sat down on the bed and saw that he left his phone,he opened it to be welcomed by a lock screen wallpaper of M/N and some strangers.He was puzzled at first to see that their faces were blurred but M/N's was visible,he knew he had to tell the others about it and placed it back where he found it before hurriedly running out.He was quick to relay what he had known and they had the same reaction as him,Jun's mouth was open out of shock "Why did he blur them out though?".Jeonghan rubbed his temples "If we want to know that,we should ask M/N personally about that",they continued talking as M/N was showering.They were all curious as to why he had such thing for a wallpaper,little did they know,the picture had much more meaning than they thought.Seungcheol bit his lip as worry pooled up in his mind,he thought with slight fear : "This could lead to a bad event if he knows about this,a really bad one"
