Jane and Magna arrived at the cabin where the kids were being held and other people. Jane has learned that Earl has died and Judith and Roslyn witnessed it together and she couldn't be anymore shocked. Jerry and the other Hilltop survivors welcome Magna back while Jane sits outside with Roslyn who picks the pedals off a flower she found on the ground.
"Roslyn, are you okay?" Jane asks as she places a hand on her daughters shoulder gently. "Yeah... it was just sad to see" Roslyn admits before raising her head to look up at Jane. Jane sadly smiles before places a kiss on the top of her forehead.
"I'm so sorry" Jane whispers as she pulls Roslyn into a hug which she returns. "I love you" Roslyn says and Jane smiles and hugs her daughter tighter like she's the last person on this earth. "I love you more" Jane states before placing yet another kiss on her daughters forehead but still upset she had to see something like that but at the same they live in this world and it was just a matter of time before she did see it, Jane just didn't want it to be so soon.
Later, Eugene tells Jane and the others about a woman named Stephanie and his plan to meet her. When he does so, the others bombard Eugene with questions, clearly uncomfortable about Eugene communicating with an outsider. Ezekiel jumps in and vouches for Eugene's instincts, inviting the others to at least hear him out. Continuing, Eugene delivers an emotional speech where he explains that he moved to Hilltop for a fresh start. Although he struggled for a while, his hard work paid off when he befriended Stephanie. While he acknowledges believing in future friends might be foolish, he exclaims that, after everything they've lost, he is willing to be the fool, and simply asks for others not to deride him, as he believes this potential alliance is worth the risk and Ezekiel nods in approval.
Outside, Yumiko finds Magna sitting on the porch, and offers Magna her horse, "For what?" Magna scoffs jokingly as she looks over to Yumiko. "You should go with them. You never wanted to be cooped up. You could get back out on the road, have an adventure" Yumiko suggests and Magna smiles softly and shakes her head as she looks over at Jane who speaks with Ashton.
"I like it here. I think some routine could be good for me" Magna says all while looking at Jane. "I think she's good for me" Magna says and Yumiko lets out a deep breath she didn't know she was holding and that's when she knew. Magna could never love her again. After all these years they've spent together, Magna just doesn't look at Yumiko the same and Yumiko can accept that but that didn't mean she wasn't hurt.
"But.. someone else should have the adventure. Meet the new people" Magna encourages Yumiko to go instead. While the latter is reluctant at first, Yumiko accepts when Magna tells her there is nothing for her to fix. "Go.. Have fun. I know I will" Magna says and Yumiko blushes as she nudges Magna's arm playfully.
"Where you gonna go now?" Ashton asks as he rests his hands in his pockets. "Um, back to Hilltop for a minute. I'll be back" Jane reassures as Ivy runs over breathlessly. "Don't worry, we'll keep Roslyn safe" Ivy says as she pats Ashton's back. Jane looks between the two and sees Silas off to the side, keeping to himself like he has been for awhile now.
