I thought I could hear all my classmates stomachs growling, especially Mack's. I almost thought that there was going to be an earthquake in his stomach from how loud it was.

You know that's an exaggeration, right?

My best friend, Cena, had her head resting on her hands. She looked like she might fall right asleep.

I wasn't much better. Sure, it had only been 1 hour and 20 minutes, but it felt like forever.

The only people who were enjoying English were, Gina, Clarise, Belinda, Luke and  Lacey. They are the reading, book people.

All of them sat up straight slightly smiling and looking confidently to the front of the class.

Charles was on his computer - we all were - playing games and looking on YouTube. Charles wasn't necessarily the best kid in class. He was usually not doing his work like a normal student.

I looked at the clock and it read 12:40, and class ends at 1:00, so we only had 20 minutes left of class.

My stomach growled again.

I was so hungry.

I think that we were all excited - even Gina, Clarise, Belinda, Luke and Lacey - because we would all be getting Hot Lunch after this.

English ended soon after and as Ms. Mcday rushed out of the room not wanting to get squashed by us exciting kids that were waiting to get hot lunch.

As we all calmed down a bit and waited at our desks patiently, a volunteer came in looking a bit worried. She seemed very tense and agitated.

She walked to the front of the room and looked at us. Our eyes stared at her and I think she could read our question right from them, 'where is our lunch'?

After a second she smiled and took a breath, "As I can tell, you all look very hungry. Unfortunately, there has been a little accident. The truck that was to bring all of your lunches, has fallen into a pot hole. All the lunches have spilled out, except for one..."

I wasn't quite sure why she had to add that only one survived but I didn't really care and continued to listen to what she had to say.

"...so sadly, you will not be getting lunch today. I apologize." After that she left the room quickly knowing how we would react... but she didn't know how crazy it would get.

Mack looked down at his stomach and clenched it. Cena had her head on her desk and smacked her forehead on it multiple times.

Charles had his hand in a fist as hard as a rock and it continued to tighten.

Gina, Clarise, Belinda, Luke and Lacey didn't seem too frustrated and talked amongst them selves saying how disappointed they were because they hadn't had hot lunch in so long.

Koen groaned and complained very loudly and threw fake punches at the air to take out his anger.

I wasn't too bad. Sure I was hungry but I wasn't at Mack of Charles' level.

Never mind, I'm hungry. My stomach growled quite loudly and I put my arms around it to try and conceal the noise.

After about five minutes Mack stood and walked to the door. "Where are you going?" Koen asked as the rest of the class turned to look.

Mack stopped, turned around and looked Koen strait in the eye. "I'm going to get my lunch." he said squinting his eye.

Mack is a naturally small person but if you get him mad - that never usually happens - he can make your life a living hell.

"What do you mean? Did you not hear that person? All of our lunches are gone." Koen seemed to get agitated at Mack's comment.

"Did you not hear her? She said that there is only one left and it's mine."  Mack stepped closer to Koen pointing his finger at him and then himself.

"Hey! We're all hungry. We'll sort something out." Charles said cutting into their argument.

Charles isn't the problem solving kind of guy. He usually is the problem.

"Stay out of this! I'm the most hungry here and I think that I deserve that lunch the most." Mack folded his arms, proud of what he had said.

Cena stood up and raised her arms. "Guy's! Settle down. We all have had a long day and we're all equally hungry."

Mack rolled his eye's and started towards the door again. Koen quickly stood up, pushing back his chair and grabbing Mack's wrist.

"You're not going anywhere." Koen was really angry now. His grip around Mack's wrist was strong and everyone could see it.

I stood up "I agree with Cena and Charles." I didn't want to get on people's bad side but this is what is right. "We should all calm down until we work this out together."

Mack looked down at his wrist Koen was still holding. He pulled away and clasped his hand around his wrist.

"NO! This guy is trying to take all the food for himself!" Koen was getting angrier and angrier.

Mack saw the perfect opportunity and slowly started to back away. I only noticed him from the corner of my eye.

I turned my full attention to him "Mack! Stop!" Everyone looked over at him. He started to run. Koen lunged at him and pulled him to the ground.

I understood that we were hungry, but this was a bit much. People fighting for food?

Everyone stood and went toward Mack and Koen. They were on the ground. George tried to break them apart but he got pushed away into the crowd.

I could sense that people wanted to help, but they were scared. Cena and I looked at each other and went to Mack and Koen.

We were able to break them apart but Koen stared deep into Mack's eyes as if he were looking in  his soul.

In a matter of seconds, Mack darted out of the room and slammed the door behind him to slow us down. It worked, but Koen burst through right after.

Cena, Charles and I hurried to the window and saw Mack running with Koen following not far behind.

I turned around because the room was awfully quiet.

No one was there.

"Oh no." I could hear Cena's worried voice and turned to the window.

All of our class was racing outside, right behind Mack and Koen.

It was clear to me...

...our class was hangry.
