This is it. My chance of freedom lied in this tiny, white envelope. Taking a deep breath in I slowly unsealed it and removed it's content,
"Dear Miss Abigail Tuner, it is our utmost pleasure to report that your request for a scholarship has been appro-" without finishing the rest of the letter, I threw it across the wooden floor and began dancing around my room like a kid on crack and screaming 'yes' repetitively at the top of my lungs, moments into my victory celebration my older brother and guardian came rushing in through my door with worry etched across his face. My brother, Ford, had recently turned twenty-five and had semi-light brown hair, grey-ish eyes and olive skin, like me.
"What happened?" he exclaimed scanning the room for god knows what. The only downside to Ford was he was super duper protective of Bonnie and I. Bonnie is Ford's wife of three years, she's unimaginably gorgeous with strawberry-blonde hair that you could mistake for ginger in certain light, ever-so-slightly tanned skin and brown eyes. She was probably the nicest person ever. It was slightly scary sometimes.
"I got in! I got in! I got in!" I squealed, tackling him in a bone-crushing hug,
"I know" he smiled pulling away, my smile dropped and looked at him confused "I already knew and I got the house and the plane tickets. Bon has already flown over to prepare the house." he explained pulling out three fully stocked suitcases from my empty wardrobe which I swear wasn't empty before. Stepping back, I pointed at the wardrobe
"Why didn't I notice that?" I asked, my mouth hanging open
"Because your a lazy shit that spent the last two days in sweat-pants and a over-sized t-shirt" he laughed gesturing to my attire. What?...Oh don't pretend like you don't do it!
"Point made" I huffed, clearing my throat "So when do we leave?" I asked jumping up and down on the stop
"Actually" he answered, looking down at his watch "right now. Get changed and meet me in the car" Ford ordered, disappearing down the hallway.
After changing and setting off to the airport, I waved to the few people on the street I recognised and to the small Irish town I was leaving behind. Although it would be hard to let this place go I was excited to start my new life in California and fulfill my dream of becoming a dancer. If fate set this as my mission all I can say is,
Bring it On.
