Ch. 5

Nightmare has won (though I kinda expected that), so here is your chapter! I hope you all enjoy it!

I got up and went through my morning routine and headed to the dining room. Once everyone was there, we began eating. After breakfast, I went to my room and fed Buddy, grabbing some books while I were there. Once done there, I started in the direction of the library. I wanted to read some of my own books and see what they had here already.

Once there, I was astounded by how big it was. I went over to some chairs and sat my books on a small table, then went off to look at the other books. It was amazing how may there were, I felt like Belle discovering the library in Beauty and the Beast. I had gone through each genre until finding my favorite one and picking some books from there, as well as getting some books on monsters on my way back.

Once I got back to where my books were, I saw Nightmare looking at my personal books. I started to feel quite worried at what questions were to come. He looked up at me, "You don't have to answer if you're uncomfortable, but why do you have books on elves? Wasn't the species wiped out in most every AU centuries ago?" He raised a bone brow, seeming to expect at least some kind of answer.

" Well, uh, they were but I... found the books a little while back." Nightmare nodded, thinking a bit.

"I won't push you to answer us too much but know you can trust us with anything. None of us would have any intent to go against you, and any secret you have would be safe with all of us."  I gave a small smile, nodded and sat down. He then saw the other books I had. "Do you like f/g (favorite genre) too?" he asked and sat next to me picking up one of the books.

I nodded, "It's probably the only genre that catches my attention."

"I read just about everything, but this genre I find the most interesting. Do you mind me reading with you?"

After that we had read for quite a while. Eventually, I began to teach Nightmare how to read the ancient elf language found in the books.

I was unsure whether to tell them all the truth. Nightmare had seemed really understanding, but I was still unsure.

Eventually, it was time for dinner. As we made our way there, we continued to discuss the various books we had read. I could've sworn i even saw a tint of cyan on his cheeks as we talked.

We all ate dinner and I told everyone good night as I walked back to my room, Horror once again tagging along.
