On Friday morning, Jinie woke up a bit late. She didn't feel well and wanted to skip work, but her secretary was away for personal reasons. She had no one to manage the company, so she got up and took a quick shower before heading to the office.

When she arrived, everyone greeted her with bows. She smiled faintly and went to her office.

It was almost noon when she sat down in her chair, feeling tired and sick. Just then, Manager Park knocked on the door. "Good morning, Miss Ahn. How can I help you?"

"Could you please get me some coffee and cold medicine?" Jinie asked.

"Sure, ma'am. I'll be right back," Manager Park replied and left.

Jinie sighed and opened her laptop to check her schedule. It wasn't too busy, but her last meeting was late at night. She wanted to cancel but knew she couldn't since it was with an important CEO.

After a while, Manager Park returned with a latte and the medicine. Jinie thanked her and took a sip of coffee, then the medicine. She rested for a moment before getting ready for her next appointment, a meeting with clothing brand representatives.

Before heading to the elevator, Jinie invited Manager Park to join her. Luckily, Manager Park could drive, so she drove them to the hotel where the meeting would take place.

When they arrived, Jinie asked Manager Park to come with her. They entered the meeting room, where another CEO greeted her. Jinie returned the greeting and shook hands before taking her seat.

Manager Park sat on a couch, waiting for Jinie to finish the meeting. Jinie signaled for her to come over. "Please listen and take notes carefully. I'm having trouble focusing," she said. Manager Park nodded and went back to her seat, listening closely.

Jinie felt relieved when the meeting finally ended. It was almost 4 PM. Manager Park quickly gathered Jinie's things so she wouldn't have to carry anything. They left the hotel and got into the car while Manager Park drove them back to the company. Feeling tired, Jinie closed her eyes for a moment.

A minute later, she felt Manager Park waking her up. They had arrived at the company. Jinie straightened herself before getting out of the car, with Manager Park still holding her bag.

In her office, Jinie said, "Ms. Park, thank you. You can take a rest for a while. I will call you for the last schedule later."

"It's okay, Miss Ahn. It's part of my job. You should rest too; you look really tired," Manager Park said.

"I'm fine, but thank you. You can go," Jinie insisted. Manager Park nodded and left.

Jinie sat down and rested her head on the table. She was jolted awake by her phone alarm. It was already 8 PM, and her next appointment was at 8:30. She quickly fixed herself before stepping out of her office.

In the hallway, she found Manager Park. As soon as she saw Jinie, she stood up and came over, already knowing what to do.

They both went to the car, with Manager Park driving. After a few minutes, they arrived at the restaurant where Jinie would meet Ms. Jung.

"You don't need to follow me inside. You can take a taxi back to the company or go home. Thank you for today. I'll give you a bonus for your help. Just park my car here and you may go," Jinie said with a smile as she entered the restaurant.

Inside, she approached the cashier. "Good evening, ma'am. How can I help you?" the cashier asked.

"I'm here to check if there are any reservations under Ms. Jung," Jinie replied.

"Are you Miss Ahn?" the cashier asked, recognizing her.

Jinie nodded. "Just follow me, ma'am. I will take you to the room." The cashier led her to a private room. "You can go inside, ma'am. Ms. Jung is waiting for you."

Before Jinie could knock, the door opened to reveal a man welcoming her inside. She saw Ms. Jung sitting at the table and immediately took a seat.

"I'm sorry I'm late," Jinie said.

"It's okay. Would you like anything?" Ms. Jung asked.

"Um, just a cup of tea," Jinie replied. Ms. Jung nodded and signaled to the man at the door before he exited.

An awkward silence settled between them, prompting Jinie to speak. "What will we do?"

"Let's wait for the tea before we continue, shall we?" Ms. Jung replied. Jinie nodded, feeling unwell and eager to finish the meeting quickly.

Fortunately, the door opened, and the man returned with a cup of tea. Ms. Jung motioned for him to leave after serving it.

"I wanted to meet you to discuss something," Ms. Jung began. Jinie took a sip of her tea as she waited for her to continue. "It's about a partnership between our companies. You know what I'm talking about, right?"

"Yes, but what kind of partnership?" Jinie asked.

"It's a business partnership. I want your company to provide us with your stocks, and we will promote them worldwide for better sales," Ms. Jung explained. Each detail made Jinie's headache worsen.

"What do you think?" Ms. Jung asked.

Jinie was about to respond when the door opened again, and another man entered. "What are you doing here?" Ms. Jung asked the man.

"Why am I not allowed in my own restaurant?" he replied.

Jinie realized the man was Ms. Jung's father. No wonder they looked alike. He laughed and turned to Jinie. "What's your name? Are you my daughter's girlfriend?" he asked.

Jinie, surprised, quickly answered, "I'm Jinie, but I used to be called Ahn. And no sir, I'm not your daughter's girlfriend."

"Oh, is that so? You two look good together," he said, laughing again.

"Dad, stop it. You're embarrassing me," Ms. Jung said.

"Am I? I'm sorry about that. Nice to meet you, Miss Ahn," he said, smiling before leaving the room.

Ms. Jung sighed. "I apologize for that," she said as she sat back down.

"It's okay," Jinie replied.

"Now, where were we? Ah, what do you think about the partnership?" Ms. Jung asked.

"It sounds good; we can do that," Jinie said, wanting to go home to rest.

"Really? Do you have any questions?" Ms. Jung inquired.

Jinie shook her head. "No, I'm good."

"Okay, I'll call my secretary to bring the contract for you to sign," Ms. Jung said.

Jinie nodded. When the door opened again, she expected it to be the secretary, but instead, a man entered with food. "We should eat first while waiting for my secretary," Ms. Jung suggested.

Jinie wanted to decline, but the food was already in front of her. She glanced at Ms. Jung, who was eating. "Why aren't you eating?" Ms. Jung asked.

"I'm okay," Jinie said, taking a small bite. However, soon after, she felt nauseous.

She closed her eyes for a moment, holding back the feeling. When she opened them again, her vision was blurry. Ms. Jung noticed. "Are you okay? Do you need something?" she asked.

"I'm fine. I'll go to the restroom for a moment, excuse me," Jinie said softly.

As she tried to stand, her vision blurred again. She felt her body growing heavy. Ms. Jung watched her as she stumbled and before Jinie could take another step, her vision went black.
