She was sleeping peacefully when the alarm went off. She grabbed it and quickly turned it off. She didn't want to wake up and would have preferred to sleep a bit longer, but she had to go back to work now that her vacation was over. She walked to the bathroom and then to the kitchen to make some coffee before leaving. But then she realized she didn't have her car and wasn't sure how she would get to the company without it. She went back to her room to get her phone and call her secretary, but it was out of reach.

With a sigh, she called her manager. "Hello, Miss Jinie?"

"Manager Park, can you pick me up at my hotel?"

"I'm sorry, Miss Jinie, but I'm in Busan right now for an urgent company matter."

"Oh, I see. It's okay. Thank you. Just take care." She hung up. Her only option was to take a taxi, even though she wasn't used to it.

She went outside the hotel and booked a taxi. "Sir, can you take me to Maria's company?" she said to the driver.

"Yes, ma'am, no problem."

After a minute, she felt something was wrong. The route didn't seem right for her company. Nervously, she asked, "Sir, is this the right way?"

"Yes, ma'am, don't worry; it's a shortcut," the driver replied, but his grin made her more uneasy. Her heart raced, but she didn't want to show her fear.

She carefully put her phone in her bag so the driver wouldn't think she knew anything was wrong. She texted her secretary but got no reply. Turning to the driver, who was focused on the road, she thought about texting someone else. For some reason, she chose Wheein. Anxiety surged, and her hands shook. She felt like the driver was watching her, but she stayed calm.

She lost track of where they were as the taxi kept going. Suddenly, her phone vibrated. She read Wheein's reply asking what was happening. The faster the taxi went, the more anxious she felt. Wheein texted her to turn on her GPS tracker. Jinie did it right away. Just then, the driver spoke. "Miss, don't worry; we'll be there soon," he said suspiciously.

She gulped. "Okay, that's fine," she replied, trying to calm herself by rubbing her trembling hands. But she noticed the driver's hands moving toward her. She couldn't keep calm any longer. She wished Wheein would save her.

Memories hit her of a time when she was in a taxi with a friend and the driver had locked the doors. Luckily, they had been stopped by a checkpoint. As she felt his hands on her knees, she began to close her eyes. But after a while, she couldn't feel anything anymore, and the car wasn't moving either. She opened her eyes and looked around. Outside the taxi, she saw a familiar face and two men.

When the woman outside saw her, she yanked the door open. Jinie couldn't process what happened next. It was like her mind went blank. She noticed the door was open, and a familiar woman was pulling her out of the car. She saw her asking a question, but she couldn't speak. When Wheein finally opened her car door, reality hit her. Her knees felt weak, but Wheein caught her, stopping her from falling. As soon as she realized she was safe, tears filled her eyes.

...

Both of them were in the car. Wheein was driving while Jinie sat quietly, her mind racing with what had just happened. They decided not to talk, and the atmosphere was quiet. Jinie sat there, staring out the window, unsure of what to say now that they had seen each other like this for the third time. Each time something like this happened, she felt embarrassed.

She was lost in her thoughts when Wheein spoke up. "Do you want me to drop you off at your company, or somewhere else?" Jinie nodded, her mind still a bit foggy. "Just drop me at my company."
