Chapter 2: New Family

Nine months ago, I lived in a neighborhood called Gion, Kyoto. It's a small hometown to live in but at least the bill is good, but like what you said, my high school expelled me from my hometown because of my aggressive behavior. And now, I live in Shibuya on probation for a year and the only person who can take me in was Sojiro Sakura, my guardian. He knew my parents and works at his own café called LeBlanc.

He works there every day; I was his employee and he was my Boss. And when he's not at work, he goes home to his daughter Futaba Sakura; which she is also the daughter of Wakaba Isshiki. He eats, sleeps, cooks, cleans and does laundry for his daughter and himself, he also gets food from grocery stores and then everything repeats over and over. But when Sojiro was surprised about when I asked about Futaba, he gets tense and he also knew that Futaba and I are Phantom Thieves, when he learned more, he suddenly starts to help out more often and I helped him too.

When I got a letter from my adoptive mother; Yuko Sagiri, she told me that today marks the day of my parent's death. August 11, 2018 is the anniversary my real parent's death.

In 2006, it was a sunny afternoon on Friday on August 11. Ren was six-years-old and he was in school by the time of the terrorist attack. My mother didn't make it but my father pulled through.

My father said that the doctor who saved him was my adoptive mother, Yuko Sagiri. And Yuko was flattered by my father. Yuko had a boyfriend once but they broke because Yuko's life was complicated. Yuko was nineteen years old and she graduated in college to become a doctor but she became a master of the samurai sword.

Five years later, Yuko is now 24 and was 46. Hokuto ask Yuko her hand on marriage and she was thrilled to be part of his life.

Friday, August 31, 2018, Iwas on my way to my house where I live, Yuko told me my father died while I wasreturning home from my summer vacation in Shibuya. My father died a few daysago during my time in Shibuya with my friends, my father was 53 at the time andYuko was 31. My father died from a terrorist attack when he tried to save alife, two lives to be exact, one was a little boy who was an heir of a powerfulgovernment and the other was teenage girl who is the daughter of a mayor, the littleboy and the teenage girl survived but Hokuto Amamiya died leaving Yuko Sagirias a widow. News spread like wildfire, Yuko Sagiri's husband's funeral was in afew days after Ren comes back from Shibuya.

After the funeral, Ren asked all of his friends to come to hometown in March...

A van pulled up to Ren's house with his friends Ryuji, Ann, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, Haru and Morgana; Ren's cat.

"Wow! So, this is your house?" Ann asked.

"Yup." Ren replied.

"Dude, this is huge!" Ryuji said.

"It's beautiful." Yusuke said with his voice being taken away.

"It could fit a whole family in there." Futaba added.

"It's lovely." Haru also added.

"Not bad for a city kid." Morgana added as he poked his head out of Ren's bag.

Everyone complimented Ren for having an expensive house. Ren walked to the door and rang the doorbell.

Ann whispered to the group, "I wonder what his parents look like."

"Maybe they're just cool parents when Ren's off his probation." Futaba said.

"Nah, they're probably still mad at him that he got arrested." Ryuji stated.
