After searching high and low, there were no signs of Dream or even his possible ghost.
One day though, when the Syndicate and Purpled were searching, Ranboo suddenly got a headache and had a gut feeling trying to lead him somewhere. He told the rest of the Syndicate this and they told him to follow that feeling since it usually meant he had found an end portal.
However, he usually doesn't get a headache along with the gut feeling so they felt that something might've been off. They entered the stronghold and as they drew closer to the end portal room, they all had a collective thought.
'Something's wrong...'
There was silence amongst the group for a few minutes as they walked down the corridors before Niki spoke up.
"Does anyone else have a strange feeling that something is wrong?"
To which everyone agreed that something was indeed off about this particular stronghold.
When they found the portal room, they all gasped in shock because the end portal looked so different, so majestic as the end portal frames were black and purple instead of their usual sandy yellow and blue color.
They were all so entranced by it that no one noticed that a certain god had appeared behind them.
"What do you think you're doing?" The god, DreamXD, asked in a tone that screamed this-is-the-calm-before-the-storm.
"Nothing! Ranboo had a gut feeling that led us here and we were all so shocked by the different end portal frames an-"
Having had encounters with XD before, Purpled spoke up.
"Does this portal lead to where Dream is, XD?"
Silence.
"S𝙹 ∴⍑ᔑℸ ̣ ╎⎓ ╎ℸ ̣ ↸𝙹ᒷᓭ? w⍑ᔑℸ ̣ ᓵᔑリ ||𝙹⚍ ↸𝙹 ᔑʖ𝙹⚍ℸ ̣ ╎ℸ ̣? (So what if it does? What can you do about it?)" XD replied, in Galactic, a long-lost language.
"Uhhh... Does anyone know what he just said orrr..?" said Technoblade in confusion.
"I got this don't worry." replied Purpled, which surprised Phil since he knew what the language was, but couldn't understand or speak it.
"S𝙹 ╎ℸ ̣ ↸𝙹ᒷᓭ ꖎᒷᔑ↸ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 d∷ᒷᔑᒲ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷリ? (So it does lead to Dream then?)" asked Purpled.
"Yᒷᓭ, ⍑𝙹∴ᒷ⍊ᒷ∷ i ∴╎ꖎꖎ リ𝙹ℸ ̣ ᔑꖎꖎ𝙹∴ ᔑリ||𝙹リᒷ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 !¡ᔑᓭᓭ ℸ ̣ ⍑∷𝙹⚍⊣⍑ ℸ ̣ ⍑╎ᓭ !¡𝙹∷ℸ ̣ ᔑꖎ. (Yes, however I will not allow anyone to pass through this portal.)" XD replied.
"J⚍ᓭℸ ̣ ⊣╎⍊ᒷ ⚍ᓭ ᔑリ𝙹ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷ∷ ᓵ⍑ᔑリᓵᒷ, ∴ᒷ ∴╎ꖎꖎ リ𝙹ℸ ̣ ᔑꖎꖎ𝙹∴ ᔑリ|| ⍑ᔑ∷ᒲ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 ᓵ𝙹ᒲᒷ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 d∷ᒷᔑᒲ. Pꖎᒷᔑᓭᒷ... (Just give us another chance, we will not allow any harm to come to Dream. Please...)"
"..."
Sensing the god's hesitance, Purpled continued to push.
"Hᒷ ᓵ𝙹⚍ꖎ↸ ᓭℸ ̣ ᔑ|| ∴╎ℸ ̣ ⍑ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷ s||リ↸╎ᓵᔑℸ ̣ ᒷ, リ𝙹リᒷ 𝙹⎓ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷᒲ ⍑ᔑ⍊ᒷ ᒷ⍊ᒷ∷ ⍑⚍∷ℸ ̣ d∷ᒷᔑᒲ ʖᒷ⎓𝙹∷ᒷ. I ꖌリ𝙹∴ ||𝙹⚍'∷ᒷ ℸ ̣ ∷||╎リ⊣ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 !¡∷𝙹ℸ ̣ ᒷᓵℸ ̣ ⍑╎ᒲ, ʖ⚍ℸ ̣ ∴ᒷ ∴╎ꖎꖎ リ𝙹ℸ ̣ ᒲᒷᓭᓭ ℸ ̣ ⍑╎ᓭ ⚍!¡. (He could stay with the Syndicate, none of them have ever hurt Dream before. I know you're trying to protect him, but we will not mess this up.)"
"... I ᓭ⍑ᔑꖎꖎ ᔑꖎꖎ𝙹∴ ||𝙹⚍ ℸ ̣ 𝙹 !¡ᔑᓭᓭ, ⍑𝙹∴ᒷ⍊ᒷ∷, ╎⎓ d∷ᒷᔑᒲ ᓭᔑ||ᓭ リ𝙹 ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷリ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᔑℸ ̣ ᒲᒷᔑリᓭ リ𝙹. I shall allow you to pass, however, if Dream says no then that means no. If there are any arrangements that Dream wants to be made, should he return, then you will arrange that. Are these terms acceptable?)" XD hesitantly said.
"Yᒷᓭ, i ᔑ⊣∷ᒷᒷ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᔑℸ ̣ ℸ ̣ ⍑ᒷᓭᒷ ᓵ𝙹リ↸╎ℸ ̣ ╎𝙹リᓭ ᔑ∷ᒷ ᔑᓵᓵᒷ!¡ℸ ̣ ᔑʖꖎᒷ. (Yes, I agree that these conditions are acceptable.)"
"Very well then." The god replied in English before lighting the portal and vanishing.
"So I assume that negotiations went well?" asked Phil.
"Yeah, so basically we're allowed to go through, but if Dream says no then that means no, and if he has any conditions that he wishes to be fulfilled in order for him to return will be made. That's about it." replied Purpled.
"Sounds simple enough." said Ranboo.
"Alright does everyone have everything they need?" Technoblade said, and glancing around he saw that everyone had nodded.
"Well then let's get right into it!"
