A shadowed form reached out, snagging a pair of jeans off a clothesline.
"What is that?"
"Is that a human?"
The same form moved on to grab a collared shirt and jacket from another shop, running off. A couple gnomes chittered angrily as the figure then stole two shoes from under a dresser.
Reaching out and grasping a pair of socks hanging off of a clothesline, a gasp made the figure turn around before running off at the sight of Bagdwella.
"A human intruder! It stole my stockings! Call the Trollhunter!" she shrieked, pointing towards the retreating shadow.
The blur shot past trolls, racing through Trollmarket at high speeds. It bumped into Draal, who let out a growl and ran off after the uninvited guest.
----------
"Intruder!
"We should eat him!"
"We don't eat humans!"
"What if he's a changeling?"
"A changeling intruder!"
"Hey, stop!"
Jim pushed through the crowd of trolls, Kit following close behind. They both stopped in front of Draal, who held a wriggling sack.
"Hey, calm down! What the heck is going on?" Kit questioned.
"Let him go," Jim demanded. "I'm the Trollhunter, I'll deal with it."
Draal gave the boy a look. Jim sighed, a stern expression crossing his face. "Let him go, Draal."
The large troll let the sack drop on the ground and Jim reached forward, slicing through the tied top with his sword.
Kit leaned to peer around Jim, a head popping out from the bag. They raised an eyebrow at the intruder who felt strangely familiar.
"Oh, thank you, Jim. Hello, Kit," the stranger stated, smiling at the boy as he rose to his feet. He let out a small yelp when Jim then raised the sword to point at his throat.
"How did you get past Trollmarket's barrier and how do you know our names?" Jim spat, his eyes narrowing.
"Master Jim, it's me, Blinky," the stranger declared.
Arrrgh let out a growl. "No. He lies."
"Strike the fleshbag down," Draal added, cracking his knuckles. "He's seen too much."
Kit hummed, crossing their arms with a curious expression. "I'm inclined to believe him," they mused. "Who else would call kiddo here 'Master Jim'?"
"I can prove it!" 'Blinky' pleaded, his hands held up in front of him. "Your mother is Barbara Lake. Your best friend is Tobias Domzalski. Your father disappeared when you were five. Your cousin Kit is standing right there!"
Shocked, Jim's sword dropped slightly as he stared with wide eyes.
Draal snarled, pushing Kit behind him protectively. "The changeling spy has studied you!"
"And we just replaced the ignition on your Vespa last week," 'Blinky' continued, flinching as Jim's sword rose again.
"Jim, if that's not Blinky, I'll eat my boots," Kit stated, scooting around Draal and strolling up to 'Blinky', only to be shoved back by Jim.
"Did Strickler put you up to this? You're working for him, aren't you? How did you get in here? I won't ask again!" Jim shot back at the stranger, firing off one question after another.
