" MOM ! " Terrell ran down the steps going into the kitchen .
" Yes rell ? " Deja turned around taking her eyes off the food she was cooking .
" The powers are getting stronger mom .. I don't know if I can do this .. "
" Terrell .. if you have keep this under control or else you can not leave this house . "
" I know that mom ! " He rolled his eyes and the cup of the table flew into the wall .
" Oh my goddddddd ! " Deja yelled .
" I'm so sorry mom I didn't mean to! " He said running over to the pieces on the floor .
" Terrell you have to watch what you do! You can really hurt someone ! " Deja snatched the broom sweeping up the glass .
" I know that mom but nothing Dad taught me is helping! The breathing techniques , the positive thoughts nothing is working! Even all the things you said aren't working! "
" Your dad is doing the best he can Terrell! "
" Well what about my other dad! "
Deja stopped .. shocked .
" What did you just say ? " She asked again looking at him .
" I know Dad isn't my real dad mom .. So just say it!"
" Watch it! " She warned .
" How could you possibly know anything- "
" A man .. " He cut her off .
" Every since i was eight there has been a man .. that shows up in my dreams and it is the same man every time .. He doesn't say anything .. He doesn't say a word mom but in my dreams somehow we always end up throwing a football around or we end up watching tv or going to the movies or out to eat and it's just so real every time and then i open my eyes and he's gone .. "
" At some point I actually started to remember his face.. then i would look in the mirror .. One day I looked in the mirror and I just knew .. When people come to you in your dreams that means that they are dead .. My real dad is dead

Deja didn't know what to say .. how to do this how to even approach this .. but she knew this day would come. She knew one day she would have to tell him .. She knew one day that he could possibly get powers and she hoped that Jayceon even though she knew better would let her handle this .
" Did he give me powers ? " He asked .
" Maybe if you come into the dream with me you can help him talk so that he can help us! "
" Sit down Terrell .. " Deja said .
Terrell listened to her and sat down at the kitchen table. He didn't know what to expect and he was not ready for all the things he was about to hear. He was not prepared for all the things his mother had to say but it was the truth .. her truth and now it was his life .
Deja sat down next to him and looked him in the eyes .. Those eyes she thought .. He had his father's eyes.
" You are thirteen .. " She said .
" I at least thought I had until you were in your 20s to tell you all this .. maybe even 30 .. " She shook her head .
" but your father .. Jayceon Terrell Taylor .. He never made things easy .. " She grabbed his hand .
" I am going to tell you the story of your father .. "
" Really ? "
" Yes .. It all started in 2014 when he was murdered "
