He runs at me screaming. As soon as he got close enough I turned to the side and tripped him and proceeded into the school.
Years after years, time passed. I never heard from Kenji again. I was working in my own company. I worked in the field of building designs. No one has even seen my face either.
I was driving under a bridge on my way home from work. When I saw a girl about to jump off the bridge. No one seems to be doing anything. I rush up to the bridge. For some reason there was a feeling that I needed to save her.
I grabbed onto her arm "hey," I said as a flash of memory of Ilya glimmered through my head.
She turned around, it was Ilya. After all these years, I see her again. She looks at me and starts crying. I pulled her into my arms. I felt my heart pumping as if trying to keep her safe and warm. I took her home after she calmed down. She doesn't seem to quite remember me.
"Who are you, why are you helping me?" She said sitting in the back of my car while I was driving.
"I'm an old friend, I'm helping cause I care," I said to her, not trying to break down. it felt like a ton of elephants where on my chest.
When we got to my place, I gave her a fresh new pair of clothes, her clothes were ripped and dirty. I then took off my jacket and mask. When she saw my face, she started crying.
"What's wrong?" I said "do you remember something?"
"For some reason when I look at you, I can't help it but cry," she said crying.
I calmed her down and she stopped looking at me and looked to the ground.
"Did you really know me?" She asked
"Yes, I know you, your name is Ilya Tsushina, my best friend." I said
"That name rings a bell but I can't remember, " she said curling up on my white sofa.
"It's okay if you don't remember," I said as I offered her a cup of tea. We drank tea in silence.
"What... was I like?" She finally asked.
"You were always crying, and cute," I said finally realizing how I felt towards her. "You are nice and gentle and where I am weak you are strong," I continued.
She smiles at me. I was scared to touch her with my bare hands, but something told me that she was going to be okay. I put my hands on her cheeks as I remembered how she felt when she was sick. Her face was burning hot, did she get sick from being outside?
I ran to my medicine cabinet and grabbed some cold medicine.
"Here take this," I said with the medicine on the spoon, but she turned her head away.
"Say ahhh," I said, she turned her head back and opened her mouth.
I gave her the medicine and gave her a glass of warm water.
"You are such a child," I said as I put the medicine away.
We sat in the living room and talked about our friendship. Before I knew it, the sky had turned black and she had fallen asleep on the sofa. I picked her up and laid her in my bed. Then I grabbed a new blanket and laid down on the sofa. I looked at the ceiling and thought about where Ilya had been all this time, before I knew it I was fast asleep.
