~Part Eleven~

(AU; no Lion Guard competition; continued)

The roar that lasted only mere seconds rang through the manifestation and he finally faded away.

Suddenly his chest felt heavy, and the race of his heart was beginning to make it hard to breathe. His head lowered with his eyes planting on the ground, and it was then that he realized it was only getting worse.

The loud rumble of distinct power was enough to jostle them awake!

"What was that?!" Simba gasped sleepily, then the whole royal family got up immediately to find out.

xxxx

The group within the same room as the mighty noise all jerked them awake immediately.

Ono's feathers fluttered, while Bunga physically leapt up with a warrior's poise, until he realized the cause for alarm.

"What's going on?!" Fuli gasped, trying to feel more awake than she was.

"Everybody ok?" Beshte wondered, and that's when they began to notice the heaving breaths that could almost echo within the Lair's small space.

"Oh, Kion!" Fuli cried, when she finally noticed him sitting by the pool at the center of the Lair. A dazed look darting from side-to-side remained, while his head noticeably moved to the significant gasps of his heavy breathing. And the tuft of his tail tapped and switched in ways they'd never seen before!

"Kion??" Beshte addressed him.

And making it slow down again seemed impossible, by now it was beginning to hurt!

"What is going on!" Simba demanded, when he and his family burst into the Lion Guard Lair.

"Don't know." Anga answered simply, shrugging.

"We just found him like this." Fuli told them. By now though his initial shock seemed to have worn off and he was starting to calm again.

"Kion,.. What is going on with you?" Kiara asked softly.

But then,.. as if nothing had happened, Kion got up and clambered off to lay down again. His eyes not even seeming to see his way, nor his ears to hear what they said. And everyone puzzled and pondered over this strange event.

xxxx

"We all have our scars Kion.." the voice echoed, as he strode through the field of smokey mist.

Then suddenly a swirling sight in front of him made him stop. And when it cleared into a shape, he was starting to make it out with the details slowly developing, until his eyes flashed.

Her sweet smile,.. her tender eyes,.. the dark umber of her complexion. What more could one want?

The warmth that filled him was soon ripped from his chest when the image shattered before his eyes and dissolved into a figure running away.

"Wait!" Kion called, rushing after it. But it seemed that no matter how fast he ran, it still seemed to be getting farther and farther away. Until all he could hear was the pounding of his own heart and the panting of his breaths.

"Noo!" He cried, reaching an edge he couldn't bring himself to jump from.

With his head lowered, and his eyes shut, he stood there remorsefully; the pit of his being growing that much more.
