~Episode eleven: Friends To The End~

(During Peacock dance)

Colorful feathers flapped everywhere, seeming to block every path of escape.

"Ugh.. We don't have time for this." Kion groaned impatiently. "Comin' through! Lion Guard follow me." Then he began to push his way through the crowd of peacocks.

"Seriously?" Fuli questioned.

Not even a little interest or understanding? She thought, as they began to make their way after him. Suddenly a flutter of feathers hit the ground, after a golden shape lurched in its direction.

"Hey!!" The peacock exclaimed, getting up immediately to glare at the one whom had delivered the shove. "Watch where you're going!!" It cried getting in Kion's face.

"You watch where you're going!" Kion growled savagely, glaring daggers at the bird with a threatening snarl that brought a halt to everything going on around them. Getting the feeling of eyes on him, he glanced about to find everyone, even his team, staring at him in surprise.

"What?! He didn't watch where he was going." He snapped angrily. "Peacocks think they own the place." He grumbled, as he walked up to glare at one to scare it out of his way; and walked on.

Kion walked on grumpily, not even looking back; as the peacocks disappeared from view down the path behind them.

Where is this impulsive behavior coming from? Fuli had to ask herself. And since when does he push other animals around?

"Kion?" She implied, reading his body language as being severely annoyed.

"If we keep getting slowed down, we'll never get to the Tree of Life." Kion complained in his agitation.

But hopefully when we do, this'll all be over. She thought to herself.

(meeting Yumibu)

"*groan* Not again." Kion groaned in frustration of the sound of laughter behind him. Doubling back, he bounded back toward where the others were standing. And Fuli's mind couldn't help but think; what's he gonna do this time?, as she too followed suit.

(After Kion scares Yumibu away)

Everyone watched until the Clouded Leopard disappeared into the trees.

"Kion? Why'd you scare him like that?" Beshte asked innocently.

"Beshte, we can't stop every time you see a new animal." Kion explained harshly, in a low tone that almost hurt more than if he'd yelled it.

"I was just being nice." The hippo replied helplessly.

"That's the problem!" Kion snapped pacing closer. "You're slowing us down! Stop being nice!!"

What?! Fuli's mind cried. What's he doing?!

"Stop being nice?" Beshte echoed hurtfully. "I.. ..I don't know how to do that."

"Kion, have some Tuliza?" Makini piped up, reaching for the gourd and making an approach. "It'll help you feel better."

"Forget it, Makini." Kion sneered, batting her hand away. "The Tuliza's not working anymore."

"Evil." Bunga sang to himself at this reaction.

Ok, that's enough. Fuli decided in the moment.
