~Episode thirteen: The River Of Patience~

(Nirmala's report)

After a careful yet brief look at Kion's scar, and Ono's eyes the answers became clear. And her instincts and immense training told her all she needed to know, giving her the go ahead to join her queen on the rock throne before them.

"Ono's injury is very superficial." Nirmala whispered to her queen. "But Kion's goes much deeper than that."

And Janna's heart sank.

(After song)

"All are welcome here." Rani finished. "As long as they respect the Circle of Life."

"Sounds like what we believe in, back home in the Pridelands." Beshte mentioned.

"Really?" Rani perked up.

"Well.. yeah." Fuli confirmed. "We're the Lion Guard.. Our job is to protect the Pridelands from harm,.. and keep the Circle of Life in balance."

"And it all began when Kion got the Roar." Beshte finished.

"Oh.. I didn't realize.." Rani supposed, as they bagan walking again. "So.. I guess what you do isn't that different from what we do."

"You could say that." Fuli replied. "And Kion is a great leader.. Once he's all healed, he'll go back to his old self, and you'll finally get to see the real sides of him. And I think you'll understand why. You'll see."

"Hmph,.. We'll see." Rani mused unsurely.

XXXX

(Ullu's warning)

"Hoo, hoo!" Hearing this call, everyone halted to look as a snowy owl came flapping up.

"Hold up, everyone." Rani said, as she approached the owl landing on a nearby rock.

"There's trouble at the Pass." Ullu whispered in her ear. And the young lioness perked up.

"Tour's over." She declared, then took off after the owl leading her away.

"What was that?" Anga wondered.

"I don't know.. but something's up." Fuli observed.

"Think we should go see what it is?" Beshte wondered.

"No.. whatever it is, it isn't our problem. This isn't the Pridelands.." Fuli reasoned. "We're here because Kion and Ono need healing. Let's just let the Night Pride handle it."

"And speaking of Kion,.." Bunga mentioned, shielding his eyes to look this way and that. "Where is he anyway?"

"Think we should go talk to him?" Beshte wondered, looking to Fuli.

"Well, I guess we can at least mention it to him." the cheetah decided. "Anga.. can you find him?"

"Yup!" the eagle responded, turning away from them. "Anga Lenga!" Then she flew off and disappeared for a short while.

"Ok, but seriously wasn't that just a little bit weird?" Bunga reasoned. "I mean, what's with all the secrecy here? All the whispers and.. Wasawasawasawasawasa." Bunga's sound effect, made with the indistinct chatter covered by his hand, strangely resonated with this more accurately than they initially thought, and it got them thinking.

"You know? You might be right." Fuli wondered. "We definitely need to tell Kion."

"Found him!" Anga called as she returned.

"Great, let's go." Fuli smiled, then they all raced after the eagle.

XXXX

(Kion waiting)

What is the point of this? Waiting for a log?? Doesn't make sense. Man, this is so boring,.. No! Stay focused.. Stay awake,.. Ugh, but when will another log just show up.. Gotta be awake when it does! But.. I can't!...

"Kion!"

"Hah! Uh..I'm awake!" Kion gasped, shaking himself awake, only to find the voice to belong to Fuli, as she and the Guard drew near.

XXXX

(Lion Guard during the fight)

"I.. wonder how Kion's doing." Fuli spoke up, to break the silence amongst the group.

"Want me to look?" Anga asked, hopping up to flap in place.

"Yeah,.. that'd be great." the cheetah nodded, and the eagle took to the skies.

"I hope he's ok." Beshte mentioned nervously. "He seemed pretty upset when he met up with us last night."

"Yeah, but.. I'm sure he took our advice and stuck with it." Fuli supposed.

"Everyone!" The tone of voice told them their Keenest of Sight returned bearing bad news.

"Anga? What is it? Is Kion alright?" Fuli asked.

"He is.. but I think he's running right into trouble.." Anga replied. "Mukucha, Ora, and Chuluun are back, and they have the Night Pride surrounded!"

"What?!" the team gasped.

"Come on!" Fuli called. "We gotta help them!"

So they all tore into the trees to follow Anga's lead.
