her, winter.

It was definitely not her first time to witness snow with her own eyes. She was seeing snow, letting it fall down her fingertips ever since she was a young girl. But no matter how many times she sees it, the admiration for the first fall of a snowflake outside her window never watered down.

So for the first week of snowy winter, she thought that it was just fitting to go out and step foot onto the thickly snow-covered ground.

She was walking down the park, leaving traces on the sheets of snow. After grueling hours of work in the office, she decided to get herself a fix of caffeine as a ‘medicine' for her headaches. There was a lot of work to be done, and it was kind of hectic now that every people in her office was chasing deadlines just in time for the holidays. Fortunately, she finished right on her schedule and cleared all her paper works for the mean time. That, at least, deserved a little treat. And what she meant by treat was through indulging herself with a delicious cappuccino while strolling by the beautiful park.

Nostalgia wept through her brain as she was intaking the sight of children building snowman and youth having their first time on a skating rink. It reminded her of the very first time she formed snow angels with her sister and the skating rink they frequently go to back to their old neighborhood when they were little. She cannot help but smile and all the more, she adored the season even more.

Too sad, she was all alone enjoying this beautiful scenario. She misses her sister so bad, but her sister was away for college and hasn't come home yet for the holidays. Her two friends whom she has known the longest already have their own families; barging to their houses cities away feels so disrespectful even though she knew she was always welcome. In addition, she only was acquainted with some people from her new workplace, still afraid to ask them to hang out.

But honestly, she doesn't mind being all by herself. All she requires was a little bit of space to clear her mind from papers and presentations, and daresay, one certain individual.

Then, that person suddenly took place over her train of thoughts. That one mysterious guy and his signature freezing stare. He is her officemate; his cubicle is located next to hers. He got the job just two weeks after she’d been hired. At his first day, she greeted him warmly, adorned with her best smile and clean, decent clothes. But he just sort of shrugged her off and arranged his stuff on his own desk, which was utterly quite rude of him.

It's been two months since the day he walked in by the office. That infamous cold eyes of his has been a talk around the office, of course, behind his back.

Sure, she listens to her co-workers conversing about his unfriendly aura and distant attitude under hushed tones, but she never participated in one. How can she participate in one when she also feels uncomfortable, what with everyone giving her pity looks. But to be honest, she really doesn't need those acts of sympathy or whatever because she have her own matters to handle. There’s no space in her mind for thinking about him.

The weird thing is, she thinks about him. A lot.

It was in her nature to show her finest behavior to people. Good impression is important if she does not want to make an enemy out of people, and God forbid, she definitely does not want to get at the bad side of every people. So in extension, she grew curious about what he really thought of her as she really wanted to leave a good impression on him. Everyday, she does some acts of kindness that is not really necessary, like buying coffee for him even if he didn't ask to.

But that was all a futile effort since she didn't even received any peep from him. It bothers her so much that he is such a snub in everything she does. All he would just do is to stare at her with that ice-biting cold eyes, not uttering even a single thanks. Yeah, it's no joke. It definitely gives her the chills.
