Rose was awestruck, worry was clearly visible on her face, she was worried and scared y/n might reject her because this wasn't just an attraction, this was love.

There was silence for 1 minute when y/n (not too loudly) yelled at her-

Y/n: Answer me Rose!

Rose flinched, she didn't know what to say, she was speechless, but after a few seconds, she managed to speak. She looked down and with a cracked voice spoke-

Rose: I- I am sorry y/n ahh, I- *hiccups * these are my feelings y/n ah, I am- I- *wipes her tear and looks up* I am sorry.

Y/n: *in a low tone and cracked voice* I am your best friend Chae.

Rose couldn't hold her tears anymore, she let them flow.

Rose: Y/n I- *hiccups* I am sorry, I tried my best to control my feelings but I- *whimpers* I couldn't.

Y/n: Rose I- I am- *whimpers* speechless, I just had one friend and I lost her too *cries*.

Rose: *shocked* What? No, please I beg you don't let this confession come between our friendship *whimpers and holds y/n's hands*  please.

Y/n: No *cries* I am sorry but- but I guess I- I can't be your friend anymore *whimpers*

Y/n started to walk away but Rose held her hand.

Rose: no y/n please don't do this to me please I really love you, I love you a lot and we would be just so amazing and-

Y/n: No!

Rose flinched.

Y/n: *in a soft low tone*  I am sorry, really sorry but I can't be friends with you anymore, please just- *whimpers*  find someone else.

Y/n started to run away but what Rose said next stopped her on her track.

Rose: I've had a crush on you since we were 13 y/n ahh!! You think it would be that easy for me to find someone else?!

Y/n was shocked to the core when Rose said that, she froze on her spot. Rose ran towards her and hugged her from behind while crying on her shoulder.

Rose: Please jus- *whimpers* just give me a chance ple- *hiccups* please

But y/n knew what she had to do. She turned around and cupped Rose's face and softly spoke-

Y/n: Honey, it's not like I am ending this friendship forever, we can still be friends you know, but just friends, not best friends.

Rose: Bu- but why?! Why can't we date? I promise I won't hurt you.

Y/n: I know you won't, but I will end up hurting you Rose.

Rose: Wha- what do you mean?

Y/n: I don't love you Rose, I mean I do but as a best friend only.

Rose: But once you get in a relationship with me you will start developing feelings for me t-

Y/n: No I won't Rose. I am sure I won't as I always saw you as a best friend, and don't force yourself to get in a relationship where your partner doesn't even love you, find someone who loves you back the same way you love them, I don't wanna hurt you Rose, I know myself very well, I know I won't be able to develop feelings for you even after being in a relationship with you, and I will feel very guilty for not being able to love you back.
