“Ash, wait up!” A running Jimin called out making Ashley stop in her tracks and look behind as she wait for her friend. Although a few drops of sweat have managed to stain her face and neck there was still a smile on her face when she finally caught up with her friend.
“I saw you earlier with Kim. What were you–”
“Kim?” Ashley asked trying to figure out which Kim she was talking about because there’s an awful lot of them in their university.
“Yes, Kim. Kim Minjeong.” Jimin answered trying to get her friend out of her misery. After hearing the certain name, Ashley’s face lit up remembering that she did have a word with the vice president earlier.
“Yeah, I did have a little talk with her earlier and oh boy how I wish I didn’t.” The look on her face mirrored her words so Jimin knew that Ashley was serious. Seeing that Jimin was curious for more information, Ashley took her silence as a cue to continue her words. “She reminded me to keep my grades up to the required standard or else she might take it to Coach Kwon or if not the higher office.”
“Ah so she’s really taking her role seriously.” Jimin absentmindedly said when she remembered her own talk with Minjeong a few weeks back.
“Can we just get Mr. Kang back?!” Ashley whined like the kid she is whenever things doesn’t go her way. “There is also this talk in the shower room that someone heard her suggesting to Coach Kwon that we should make our Saturday practices as an official schedule.” She went on with a hushed voice on her last sentence like she was fearing that someone might overhear them.
Saturday practices as an official schedule? Well it favors Jimin because she has nothing else better to do on weekends but she knew that it will take a long discussion before it can be added to their official calendar. A thorough discussion but it isn’t impossible specially at the moment since they are heavy on preparations and practices for the upcoming meet.
“Can you like talk to her or something Jimin?”
“Why me?”
“Because you are the captain?” Her friend answered and had this look on her face saying who else dummy?
“I’ll see what I can do.” Was all that Jimin could answer at the moment because right now, Minjeong isn’t even talking to her. Well it was nothing new but she wouldn’t even spare her a glance this time. Jimin have a huge feeling that it has something to do with last Friday or mainly Jimin taking Jongshin’s offer to drive her home.“I hope you could at least talk her into loosening up a bit. So where are you heading to anyway? I’m on my way to the cafeteria. Wanna get a bite?” Ashley offered since they have two-hour break before their swimming practice starts.
“I’m going to the library. I got some unfinished business to do.” Jimin answered as she tap Ashley’s back as a way of saying goodbye before heading out to the direction of her destination.
“Library? Yoo Jimin are you sick?!” Ashley shouted to the walking Jimin not quite believing the words that just came out of her friend’s mouth. The swimming captain didn’t bother to turn around and answer back to her friend’s teasing. Instead she raised up her middle finger and a few seconds after the faint chuckle of Ashley was the last thing that she heard as she continued walking.
Spotting the vice president wasn’t so hard for Jimin since she was sitting at the same table on the same place where she first saw her weeks back. Talking to her shouldn’t be hard nor a problem because Jimin was used to the way the vice president talks to her but this time was different. Jimin has got some explaining and apologizing to do.
