I remember it like it was yesterday. Many months ago, I signed up to be a part of a new program called the National Space Relocation Movement, or simply the NSRM. Major breakthroughs have occurred, and scientists have figured out how to make a ship travel into lightspeed. With this, major world powers are using this to send a group of 8 people on a ship in search of a planet fit for humans.
The way they picked 8 out of hundreds of thousands of participants was long and difficult, but after months and months of testing and training, the final 8 were picked. 2 out of the 8 were also rumored to be K-pop idols, which made some of the world mad, saying that they'd be underqualified. What further caused the world to riot was news that the lead rocket scientist, Dr. Eugene Nabbefeld, supposedly used his position to put his child into the 8.
That child is me.
My name is Yan Nabbefeld, although I usually just go by Y.N, or Wyan, for short.
Regardless of what anyone's opinion is about me, I know I deserve to be here. I know I can prove my worth and make my team, my old world, and my father proud. We are the people responsible for saving the Earth's population.
We are the people that are going where no one else has gone before.
We are the 8.
