My weekend away in Bristol was much needed. I know home is technically in London because I live there now, but Bristol is what I call 'home home'. It's where all my family live, and it's so nice to see them, especially since I hardly get to see them. Summer has had the same ecstatic effect on Bristol as it's had on London; everyone was out in their smallest clothing, there wasn't a single person without sunglasses propped on their head, and long sleeves had become non-existent. Everyone was having tasty barbecues, partying until the sunrise, pretending that nothing else around them is important anymore. Football and sports competitions were always on the TV, the noise of the fans clashed with the music coming from a random speaker somewhere in the house, like constant background music. The summer vibes were more than just immaculate, they were memorable. Irreplaceable. Summer 2022 is proving to be unbeatable at the moment, and that's saying something considering how amazing summer 2019 was.

I was also been texting Kai a lot over the weekend, and hiding it from my family was extremely difficult. I really wanted to tell them, because they would've loved to hear the story, whether it embarrassed me or not, but I didn't want them to take it to social media. I've already made my face on the news once as the Blue Dress Girl, and even now there's still rumours of who it could be. I'm waiting for the moment everything is confirmed, and it's not just a phase that the team and me and Aidan have got ourselves into. Until then, the only person messaging me is 'Aidan'!

Speaking of Aidan...
I couldn't get him to wake up the day after his mini meltdown. No joke, the most progress I made was actually peeling his eyes open with my finger and thumb myself, and even then he didn't wake up! I basically had no choice but to just give him my key and let him stay in my flat. Turns out he skipped that whole day, because he woke up to numerous messages from me, work and Mason that were a day old! He also stayed in my flat when he woke up, so my apartment turned into Aidan's free B&B over the weekend!

I'm on my way back home now; I stayed over Friday to Monday, and I'm coming back home quite late. I'm hoping that Aidan is awake, because he's got my only key. I got one of the last trains from Bristol to London, and the time is currently bang on midnight. I found my car amongst hundreds of others, hiding between a Fiat 500 and some type of Peugeot. I didn't forget where I parked it, but it threw me off that I didn't see it at first glance. I plugged my music into the aux, then played it quietly since I've had earphones plugged in my ears for a few hours. The drive from the train station to my flat isn't too long; it's not like that drive from The Rooftop to my house with Kai and Aidan anyway. That's been my most recent hellish trip. Not even a train journey beat that one...

I made my way through the building with ease. All I had to do was buzz my card on the car park entrance, then twice more to get to the elevators that take me to my apartment. Dropping my bag of things on the floor, I take a deep breath and knock on the door. I warned Aidan that I was coming home late tonight, hopefully he stayed up waiting for me. If he tried to stay up for me and accidentally fell asleep then I won't be mad, but if he's gone asleep or gone out whilst knowing I'm coming home then we'll have a different scenario. I press my ear to the door; there's hushed voices in there, more than one. There's no music, there's no way Aidan's managed to hold a party and not get a noise complaint from my neighbour. I knock again a little louder, causing someone inside to jump up from the sofa. Thank God! I pick my bag back up, holding it over my shoulder and putting a small smile on my tired face.

"Welcome back!" Mason greets me, causing my smile to drop a little. "Bloody hell, don't look so happy to see me?"

"No-! Sorry-!" I splutter, putting a hand on my head and laughing. "I just wasn't expecting to see you here?"

Mason steps aside to let me in, revealing Aidan and Kai sitting on my sofa. The boys have definitely made themselves at home here! The balcony doors are wide open, and there's two new, large, grey bean bags either side of the sofa that aren't mine. My coffee table is filled with a bunch of snacks, and there's wires everywhere connecting my TV with someone's console. Without a light on, my apartment is lit up a glowing green colour by FIFA 2021, and the sound of controls viciously clicking and tapping fill my ears as Kai and Aidan glue their eyes to the game. They've both got headsets on, I bet their hair will be flattened when they take them off! I hold back a chuckle as I watch them, walking over to the kitchen and putting my bag on the side.

"How was Bristol?" Mason asks, stealing a bag of crisps from the table and offering them to me.

"Good, thanks." I nod, taking a crisp between my index and middle finger. "It's nice to see the family when I can."

"Yeah, it's difficult when you haven't got much free time though." Mason shrugs in agreement with me as I eat the salt and vinegar crisp. "Nice to have you back though."

"And it's nice to come back to company." I chuckle, watching as Kai celebrates and Aidan looks despaired. "Sorry, can I just go get something comfier on?"

"We can leave if you want to go to sleep?" Mason offers, pointing a thumb towards the door.

"No! No, please, stay." I smile, shaking a hand at him. "I was going to get changed and then join you guys, if that's alright?"

"Oh, sure." He smiles, wandering back over to the group.

As Mason rejoins the group, I slip to my room, noticing that Aidan has kept it spotless. Besides a folded pile of clothes on the floor and a half full basket of washing, everything is just as I left it. I was never worried about Aidan causing a mess, but it's another little thing ticked off of my list of worries. I grab a pair of comfy grey shorts from my wardrobe along with a loose, black, pyjama cami top. I also take a pair of fluffy socks that look like dogs and even have ears sewn onto them, then brush my hair and join the boys. Aidan's moved onto a squishy bean bag, leaving me a space next to Kai. Mason and Aidan are now wearing the headphones, and Kai's hair has an imprint from where he's been wearing the headset for so long. As I sit down next to him, he flinches a little; he didn't see me come in earlier because he was playing the game, so you can imagine his face when he saw me sit right next to him!

"When did you get back?" He asks, running a hand through his hair.

"About 10 minutes ago?" I guess, looking at the time on my phone. "Miss me?"

"No." Kai smirks jokingly, and I roll my eyes at him. "Of course, but Aidan's been good company."

"I can see." I chuckle, watching Aidan as he suddenly leans to the side as his player on the TV boots the ball. "Nice to see someone keeping him company."

"He's been with us all day yesterday and today, no joke." Kai chuckles.

"Don't tell me he had a hang over again?" I grimace, putting a hand over my mouth ready to conceal the embarrassment.

"No, he started an apprenticeship at Stamford Bridge yesterday." Kai tells me, resting a long arm across the back of the sofa behind me.

Holy shit. Holy shit! They did it! They did it! Aidan's got a job at Chelsea FC! They weren't joking when they said they'd find something for him! Oh my God, I think I could cry. Not in sadness! In joy! Aidan's finally got what we both have been wishing for forever, success! He's achieved something! Awww, bless him. Imagine having an apprenticeship in Chelsea FC at the age of 19, that must be all of his dreams come true! Especially now he's made new friends with this lot! Part of me is sad, only because I can imagine I'll be seeing less of Aidan at work. Do you reckon he's left already? If he's on an apprenticeship then he must have left by now? No, we haven't been told anything by Bobby yet, so he has to still be there.

"That's incredible, thank you so much." I smile, taking my hand away from my face. "He's dreamed of that since we met."

"Told you we could do it." Kai smirks, laughing when he catches me rolling my eyes again. "We've got a game in two days, are you coming?"

"Can't say no to that, can I?" I scoff, watching the game as Mason skills out Aidan, causing him to grunt. "What time is kick off?"

"It's quite late, kick off is at six in the afternoon." Kai tells me, checking the time on his phone.

"That's fine, I'll just have to book work off." I yawn, hiding my face in my elbow.

"You should go to sleep if you're tired." Kai tells me, putting a pillow on his shoulder so I can rest my head.

"I'm not tired, I'm just closing my eyes." I lie, knowing fully well I could go to sleep within seconds.

"Yeah, as if." Kai chuckles. "Also, did you get a chance to check social media this weekend?"

Uh oh..

"No." I mumble, shaking my head weakly. "Should I be worried?"

"No, it's nothing too bad, don't worry." Kai reassures me, shaking his head. "Safe to say you haven't been caught yet."

Hell yeah!
