I heard it all. The way Rose stood up for herself.

She's curled up in a ball, half asleep. My sweatshirt covers her until mid thigh and about four inches after her hand, she looks adorable in it.

Rose thinks I don't hear her crying, but I do. After about 10 minuets I reach over and pull some over her hair from her face, but by then she's asleep.

Anger bubbles in my chest, a protective kind of anger. Who was this Keegan kid to think he could do that. I don't care if he was drunk or not, it's wrong. The way he scared her makes me think he was horrible to her. But I don't understand why, why did he think he could even do that? It doesn't make sense to me and probably never will.

I pull into Rose's driveway, nobody else is home and I really don't want to wake her up. But when I open the door the car lights turn on and she wakes up.

"Sorry," I say softly.

She blinks, obviously only half conscious. Her eyes fly open when she notices we're at her house," oh," she mumbles rubbing her eyes," I must have fell asleep. Sorry."

I jog around to suburban, opening her door," it's fine."

Rose stands and my sweatshirt covers her shorts, making it look like she isn't wearing any pants. I hold in a chuckle.

The door flies open and Luke glares at me. He looks a lot like Rose, with brown hair and hazel eyes, only he is a lot more stronger. Obviously.

"Rose?" He yells.

I don't want Rose to leave, but she's already taken my sweatshirt off her cute little body, handing it to me.

"Thank you," she says.

Rose starts to leave, but then turns towards me. Extending her arms she gives me a hug. After a moment, I wrap my arms around her lower back, my face buried in her shoulder. She smells amazing, and thanks to my wolf scent it's even better.

"Thank you for getting him off me. Thank you so much Ash," she whispers in my ear.

"Nobody should treat a girl like that. Nobody. Especially to you, you deserve better," I mean it when I say it.
___________

I can't get over her, but I'm starting to accept the fact that I like her. A lot. I keep thinking I'm being self absorbed, for not even thinking about anything else.

Here it is, the middle of the night and I can't stop thinking about this one girl.

I walk into the kitchen, nothing from dinner is put away. Usually it always is, so I start to clean it up. My mom comes out, smiling and kissing my cheek.

"Glad to see your back to yourself," she says, helping me.

I shrug," I'm still feeling weird from the change of woods got me a little off."

"It's okay honey. You always help me out its okay to take a break from being a replacement for Sam's dad," mom smiles sadly.

"I just can't help it, Abi needs someone like that and Sam hasn't been the same since," I say," I need to do something."

I find myself worrying about the future, when Abi wants to know about her dad.

How do you tell someone their father was a traitor to the pack and got half of us killed in his wake? It's scary to think of it.

"Get some sleep mom," i say," I got this."

She lets her shoulders fall," I love you."

"I love you too," I say.
_____________
Abi wakes me up, as a pup. She wags her blonde tail, her tongue hanging out of her mouth. She barks at me.

"Abi! I told you not to wake me up as a wolf!" I lecture.

She whines and walks out of my room, a few moments later she returns in her princess robe," sorry Ashey."

I sit up, swinging her onto my lap," how's my pup doing this morning?" I tickle her.

"Good," she squeals," good!"

I plant a kiss on her cheek and carry her to the kitchen, where her mom is making pancakes.

"Hey Kelly," I say kissing her cheek as well.

I set down Abi and fake over the cooking for her.

Kelly smirks," someone is back to them self again."

I flip a pancake," I decided to stop being so self centered and help you and my parents put again."

Abi tugs on the edge of my athletic shorts, pointing to a very grumpy, very hungover, Sam. I chuckle and he winces.

"Volume," he groans.

Kelly flicks his head," are you hungover?"

Sam pales," no!"

Abi looks up at me," Ashey?"

"Yes," I hum.

"What does hungover mean?" Sam chokes on his glass of water.

"Yeah Ashey, what is it?" Sam taunts.

"See Sam?" I ask Abi. She nods," that's hungover."

Kelly scowls," living room. Now!"

I laugh," bye Sammy."
