Part 10

All Lucifer could hear was the beeping of the machines, he couldn't see, but he could hear, he couldn't move, but he could think. His breathing was steady and calm, but he was so stressed. After a few minutes of struggling, he was able to force his eyes to open. He tried to sit up but pain shot through his nerves and he hissed through his teeth. All of his muscles were unbearably sore and cramping up. Suddenly, one of the demon nurses came in and gasped. "Lucifer you're awake! How are you feeling?" The nurse asked as she changed the bandages on his back. "I feel sore, but that's it." He lied, he was in unbearable pain, so much that he wanted to scream. "Well, you might feel some pain later, the pain killers might wear off soon. Just tell me when it does so I can get you more alright?" She said as she finished. 'I'm already on pain meds!?' Lucifer internally freaked, what would the pain be like when they wear off? "Would you like me to get your family? They're in the waiting room." The nurse said. Lucifer nodded. When everyone heard the news, the jumped up and ran to the room where Lucifer resided. Lucifer was trying not to groan in pain but successfully pulled through when he saw his family burst through the door in tears. Victoria was first as she ran to her big brother. Lucifer returned her embrace with no hesitation despite the pain he was in. Everyone rushed around him, bombarding him with questions, he didn't mind though. He answered every single question as honestly as he could. By telling them he was in no pain. Diavolo shook his head disapprovingly, but Lucifer just shrugged it off. The nurse came back in, breaking the news that he had to stay for at least 3 weeks. "WHAT?" All of the brothers asked. "I-I thought he was going to come home today..." Asmodeus said sadly. "Well, your brother suffered a horrible back injury, he needs as much rest as he can get." The nurse explained.

3 weeks of Lucifer being constantly hospitalized were finally over and he was released. They safely got back to the house and everyone except Satan, Anna, Barbatos, and Lord Diavolo, followed Lucifer to his room. Lucifer raised a brow with a confused smile, looking at all his younger siblings in the doorway. "You can come in you know..." Lucifer said, sitting down on his huge bed. Everyone ran in and jumped on the bed, crawling to him. Victoria sat in his lap, laying her head back against his chest, Lucifer rested his chin on top of her head. Belphegor laid his head on her lap, drawing Lucifer's hand to the top of his head, to which Lucifer ran his fingers through his navy locks with white tips. Beelzebub sat by Lucifer's right side, giving him a side hug. Levi sat on the opposite side of Lucifer, quietly playing on his handheld console, resting his head on Lucifer's arm that was playing with Belphie's hair. Asmodeus and Mammon were behind him. Mammon was next to Beel, resting his chin on Lucifer's right shoulder, and Asmo with the opposite, resting his chin on Lucifer's left shoulder. Everyone was cuddled up to him, he kept trying to hide the smile that rose to his face. He was happy...genuinely happy, but where was Satan? When Lucifer thought this, his smile slowly faltered. He loves his youngest brother very very much. It always hurt him when Satan was distressed or angry at him for the circumstances of his birth. Satan, Avatar of Wrath, born of Lucifer's anger and sadness. Was never an angel, so he never had a virtue. Satan thought he was just wrath, and nothing more because of Lucifer. When that wasn't true at all. Lucifer saw so much more in him, everyone did, including The Father. Lucifer knew Satan would likely hate him for the rest of eternity, but he was okay with that. He's okay with all the pranks, all the insults Satan throws his way, all as long Satan knows that he loves him with all of his heart, like he does with all of his siblings. He hoped his actions proved that to him at the very least. 20 minutes later all the siblings were asleep, except for the prideful eldest. He looked over at the door because Anna walked in. She smiled warmly at him, and he smiled back. "We all missed you very much Luci.." Anna giggled as she sees Asmo snuggled his cheek on Lucifer's cheek. Lucifer smiled bigger and turned his head slightly to give Asmo a light brotherly peck on his temple, making Asmo smile a bit in his sleep. "I would get up and hug you my love, but I cannot move..." Lucifer chuckled quietly. "Do you think you're going to get sleep?" Anna asks as she sits on the edge of the bed. "Not a wink, but I'm okay with that." Lucifer whispered, smiling. Anna smiled back again, but it was more of a sad smile. "Satan hasn't come out of his room...he's so upset..." Anna muttered. "About what?" Lucifer asked, worried. "I'll let him tell you that Luci, he needs to be more honest with you." Anna said. Lucifer scoffed. "Like that's ever gonna happen... I don't know what I'm going to do with that kid. I can't get through to him. I've tried everything Anna." Lucifer says gravely, looking down at Victoria and Belphie. "So...are you giving up on it?" Anna askes, resting her face in her hands.  "Of course not, all I'm saying is that I'm just going to stop trying to make him understand things. If he wants to know then he has to figure it out. I love him more than anything, I love all of them more than anything...My actions prove that. My words prove it too, even if I don't say it enough." Lucifer choked up at the end, but prevented his tears from even reaching his eyes. Anna nodded and climbed in the bed, kissing Lucifer's lips before leaving the room. Lucifer sighed when he hears his door close. "Ewwww." Victoria says, startling Lucifer for a moment, before he smirked. "Ewwww what?" Lucifer asked smugly. "You two kissed..." She whispered and scrunched her face in disgust. Lucifer suppressed his laugh, making sure not to wake the rest of the brothers up. He hugged her with his free arm. "I bet you won't be saying that when Barbatos kisses you. Hm?" He teases as she gasps. She blushed and hid her face in her hands. "Luci..." She growled, embarrassed. "Shh, everyone's asleep. You should get some more rest." He whispered, kissing her head softly. Victoria rubbed her eyes and yawned, laying back on his chest and cuddling his arm close to her.
