"You really out did yourself this time, huh mom?" I mumble practically to myself. "Well this wouldn't be the first.." Chimes my older brother Adam, Smirking at me. I crack a small smile and continue to gawk at the lavish new home in front of us.
"You guys..." Mom says walking from the driver side of our Chevy Tahoe.
"It looks so much bigger in person than it did in pictures" she says a bit confused just as we are. Then that's when the biggest grin just like the emoji on my iPhone appears. "Perfect". That's when I knew we weren't on the same page. Typical for mom nowadays to get bigger and more expensive things more than needed. As I continue to look over the house, I now must call home, I realize that we are standing in front of the biggest house at the end of this private drive. There's definitely enough shade and trees to cover up the home to make it look at least 1/4 smaller than it is. At least that's what I thought until we pulled up in the front of the house after we drove through the automatic gates and down a slope to the wrap around drive.
"Are you just gonna stand there or are you gonna tour this place so you won't get lost this time " I was pulled out of my thoughts by my brothers teasing, realizing I'm the only one standing in the same spot after I got out of the car.
As I walk into the front. I tell you my mom really over did it. The foyer is literally a room itself. I look up and see one of the most elaborate chandeliers I've ever seen. I look forward to see that this place is already furnished. The living room. Again moms many times of over doing it.
"Hey mom..." I semi yell
"Yes Ava.." She appears behind me from the foyer.
"What did you do with all the old furniture?"
"Oh, I gave that old stuff to the neighbors." she says so measly, opening a box labeled pictures.
"Oh." I say, kind of mad I left my back up charger inside of it considering my original just broke. Maybe the neighbors will send to me. Hell they probably will just throw it away.Fucking Assholes.
I suddenly feel as if I was missing something important.
"Hey mom.." I await a response
"Yes sweetheart.." She says finishing up putting pictures and books on the book shelf.
"Where is my room?" I say looking around.
"up the stairs, to the right, like always honey." she said giving me the 'duh stupid' look.
"Right, I forgot." starting to blush. With that I turn on my heels and make my way up one of the two way Parting stairs. I go right and see two double door with a room tag.
"Ava's suite" I read a aloud.
"Great" I say half heartedly.Just as I thought it could get worse with moms over doing.
"Wow" I say nearly at whisper.
Large windows On one side and a balcony looking out to the back of the house I have yet seen. But can see another house Kitty corner from ours and the private beach that doesn't really seem private. kind of glad we aren't the only ones out here.
I look at the center to see a king sized bed without a doubt way too big for me but I'm not complaining, I enjoy my sleep.
White sheets, white comforter and accents of sea foam green decorative pillows and grey drapes that can be used for privacy while sleeping. At least mom got the colors right, I laugh to myself.
I look at the projector on the wall across from my bed. I asked for this when I saw it on Twitter. Definitely will enjoy this big ass screen from home. I check out the walk in closet filled with some old clothes and some new clothes that won't be used considering I'm a bum And enjoy wearing sweats and athletic wear everyday when available.
I left the closet to go to my own master size bathroom. The first thing I see is an Ava looking so tired and worn out from the drive. Driving across the country was way worse than I thought it was. I walk out and head straight for the bed. Finding the projector remote and getting comfortable.
I turn the channel to say yes to the dress. My eyelids are feeling heavy. And next thing I know I'm sound asleep.
