If I would have known about a year ago that Being New to the city, even new to the state And compared to all the other girls you're probably labeled basic. Just being on this high school varsity cheerleading team, everyone thinks you basically suck and they hate you as much as people hate the upchuck of Monday's school lunch, really puts a damper into the high school experience.
It's been two weeks since my first day of school and Adam has left back to college Earlier this morning. i can honestly say I MIGHT miss him, considering its just me and mom in this house.
I lay in bed dreading this day. It's Homecoming week, and I enjoyed participating with the Vannah, Katy and Alyssa, but this school doesn't seem too thrilled about us performing at the pep rally today. Our teams is actually really good. But our school is to worried about who is going to mess up or who's skirt is the shortest.
I get dressed in our blue, white and sliver uniform with my hair half up half down, along with our game bow.
I walk into the bathroom to put on as little makeup as possible. I grab my new cheer bag and jacket, along with my backpack and head out to the kitchen.
"Morning Sergio!" I say entering the kitchen.
"Good morning Ava. Are you ready for your big day? Considering you might mess up" he teases.
"Ha-Ha, very funny." i say while Sticking my tongue out.
I grab a blueberry muffin and say my good byes to Sergio.
I left a little earlier than I do on other days. I cant be this egar to get this day over with that much.
When I arrive to school mostly teachers and freshman students are here, decked out in the school colors.
"Hey, you're earlier than usual." Katy says dropping boxes full of decor.
"Yeah just happened to be ready and didn't feel like staying at home but,... Do you need any help?"
"Oh thank you, that would be great." She says handing me a box.
We walk to the front of the boys football locker room. I stand their slightly confused with what Katy has plans for. She knocks on the door and the football coach opens the door and nods, Walking in and closing the door behind us. I never would have thought a football locker room would smell this bad.
"Yeah I'd breathe out of my mouth if I were you." She says.
And I take her word for it.
"What exactly are we doing here, in the BOYS locker room?" I say observing how dirty these boys are. I notice names and grades on the lockers.
"And who is Collin Basting, Sam Valero, Jordan Banks and Michael Ford ?" I say out of curiosity."Well today is the first game and some of the girls on the team. Later today are decorating due to traditions, But does it matter, NO because they don't like us." She pauses putting the boxes on top of the cabinet. "But as far as those guys...they are the ones from lunch, At that table. And from the hall." She says on the way back out of the locker room.

Katy and I ended up parting when she saw her Spanish teacher.
As I walk to my Locker and around the corner I see full of himself guy, history and science guys , and the other I have yet to give a title to, but considering it's his locker next to mine he can be locker guy.One sees me coming and the others look his way too. I start to feel my checks heating up and I look at the ground.
When I get near them I feel a sense of awkward silence. I notice the boys have on their jerseys that match our uniforms and khaki shorts.
I fiddle with the lock combination. And after the third try, I finally got it to open.
"Took you long enough." he says smirking and turning his attention back to his friends.
I took everything out of me to not say anything, but my mouth is to fast for me to stop myself.
"And why would it be any of your concern?" I say slamming my locker closed. I was mentally cursing myself out for my reaction.
They all look taken aback by my answer, And then they started smirking and and laughing while all looking at each other.
"Aren't you a cheerleader?" Says locker boy.
I look down at what I'm wearing giving him the 'no shit Sherlock' look.
"I don't know what do you think." I give the evil eyes, in hopes they would all back off.
Instead they all turn to me practically closing off any space so I won't make a run for it. I start getting nervous at this point. I consider all my options of screaming, running, or hoping someone else would see but considering this hall is so empty no one would notice, but instead I freeze.
"What's your name?" says science guy, Vannah's friend.
"What's your name?!" I say. Hoping they see I'm not scared of them. But get sadly mistaken by the way they tower over my 5'6 height.
"We asked first!" Says history guy.
"Ava." I respond, barley at a whisper.
"Well Ava..." Says locker guy. "Are you going to attend the the most awesome school wide football party?"
"Considering I'm a cheerleader, I don't think I'm invited." With that I try to escape in a space small enough for me, to be immediately cut off by two strong walls of pure muscles.
"I said school wide, didn't I." Locker guy says.
"You better be there...Ava." Says overly conceited guy.
With that the bell rang, I push through my spot and begin walking to history as fast as I could without looking like an idiot. I can sense someone out of the corner of my eye, that history guy is trailing close behind me. I slowed down, so did he, I sped up, so did he.
"Do you need something?" I turn around blocking the path to class. He looks me up and down and laugh.
"Nah. Just walking to class...Ava." He says as if he was trying to seduce me.
"Stop saying it like that."
I walk away into class, Hurrying to find my seat. I feel someone slid in the desk behind me. I feel so small sitting their knowing he is staring at my head.
I slip down into my chair, And try focusing in class. Why did they want me to go to the stupid party anyway?
