Jenna
I sit in the waiting room playing on my phone. I had been here for about half an hour waiting for my appointment.
"Jenna Thompson." The nurse calls from the hallway. I stand up.
"Doctor Roberts will see you now in room ten." She turns and walks away with out another word. I walk down to the door labeled with ten. I open it slowly.
"Hey Jenna." Doctor Roberts says as I walk in. "Take a seat I'm almost done."
She finishes writing something on a clipboard before sitting across from me.
"So I understand that you were diagnosed with cancer last year, is that correct?" I just nod not trusting my voice.
"I need verbal confirmation please Jenna." I swallow.
"Yes I was diagnosed with stage two cancer last November." She smiles.
"okay and your here today to seek treatment?" She writes something else down on the clipboard.
"Yes, that's correct." She smiles.
"Then let's get to that." It take us about
Two hours to get everything done.
"Okay and I have one last question.
What made you change your mind about being treated?" I look at the floor. I can see Jonathan smile now.
"I meet someone. Before I didn't really have a reason to live, but I do now." I admit it to her and myself the same time.
She walks me out and I walk to Breanna's car. I open the door and sit down.
"Do you want to talk about it?" She ask starting the car. I shake my head. I wasn't ready.
We drive home in silence. Neither of us talking.
