Jonathan
I open the coffee shop door and walk in. Jenna smiles when she sees me.
"Hey!" She says wiping her hands on her apron as she walks around the counter.
"Hey how much longer is your shift?"
I ask sitting at the bar the coffee shop has."Only thirty minutes, why?" She ask taking a seat besides me.
"I want to take you somewhere." She smiles and her green eyes light up.
"Okay I'll get finished up here." She walks back around. I didn't want to admit it but I was falling for her.
We walk down the streets, it's cold and the sun is about to set. But I have a feeling that we both feel more comfortable here.
"what was her name?" Jenna ask breaking the silence.
"Who?" I ask as we continue to walk.
"Your wife, you don't have to tell me."
She continues to walk not making eye contact."Natasha, she was amazing. She had a really strong faith, like you do. And when we had our little girl, well her name is Cassidy." I smile at the thought of my family. I missed them.
Jenna surprises me by taking my hand and linking our fingers together. She squeezes my hand and smiles at me.
"So where are we going?" Sha asks to change the subject.
"One of my favorite places." She glares at me and I smile. We make it to the park in about ten minutes.
"Really?" She ask turning my way.
"It's not the park. It's just in the park."
I continue to walk through the park. Making my way to the center of the park. The bridge comes into view soon. We walk up to the Middle of it and I sit with my feet hanging off.
"Why here?" She ask sitting next to me. I don't answer for a minute.
"This is where almost everything important in my life happened. I met and married Natasha here. Natasha told me she was pregnant here. My life seems to like this bridge." I admit.
She smiles, leaning her head on my shoulder."Jonathan?" She ask after we sit in silence for a minute. I humm in response.
"Do you like me?" She ask. I look at her and notice that she's playing with the sleeves to her jacket.
"Yes, I do." I say. I did. She was kind, she was funny, she wasn't every other girl in the world.
"I like you to." I smile. Leaning my head on hers I let the silence sink in.
We sit and watch as the sun sets, in beautiful blues, oranges and pinks.I drive home after dropping her off.
The radio plays but I'm not listening to it. I was replaying earlier in my head. She liked me, she really did.
I smile. When she handed me the coffee cup she had no clue what she was doing.
