Jenna

I look at my phone. He had given me his number and I was debating about calling him. To tell him the truth. Tell him I was dying. I continue to stare at the phone until it starts to ring.

It startled me and I'm surprised to see his number. I let it ring twice before picking up.

"Hello." I say playing with my jacket sleeves.

"Hey Jenna it's me Jonathan." I laugh.

"Yeah know. You gave me your number."

"You saved it with my name. Did you put a heart next to it?" I smile shaking my head. I could see him smiling on the other end of the phone.

"No I didn't. I actually saved it as guy I have to keep saving and doesn't want to leave me alone." He laughs, he had a deep chuckle that sounded nice.

"That is one long caller ID. I actually called to see if you wanted to meet Cassidy this Sunday?"

I smile, he was so sweet.

"That sounds great." There's a silence for a minute. We could probably hang up but I like the idea of him being on the other side of the phone.

"What'd you save my number as?" He laughs.

"Coffee cup, with a heart." I laugh.

"What are you a teenage girl?"

"No, just in love." I choke. Not literally but I don't have a response.

"I mean not in love I just really like you..." He corrects himself.

"Ok well um. I guess I should go Breanna's gonna be starting dinner and I should help.

I wince after I hang up the phone. How was I gonna explain that to him.
I shake my head and head downstairs to help Breanna with dinner.

After dinner I sit in my room. There's nothing I can say to him to explain. But I wanted to so badly.

I pick up my phone to call him I was gonna meet him at the bridge and tell him everything.

I pick up the phone and let my finger hover over the call button. That's when I start coughing. The coughing gets worse and worse. Eventually Breanna comes in to help me to the bathroom.

Once we get there I start to cough up blood. Breanna shakes her head.

"I'm calling the doctor now." She walks out of the room to get the phone. The coughing stops and I sit next to the toilet.

"Come on we're heading to the hospital." She picks me up and helps me to the car. Putting me in my seat she drive to the hospital.

A few hours later I'm laying in a hospital bed. Doctor Roberts walks in carrying a clip board.

"Hey Jenna how are you feeling?" She ask taking a seat next to my bed.

"I'm okay but I need to know what happened." She nods.

"I understand that. It's your body reacting to the cancer. The cancer is getting worse it's in your lungs. We need to start chemo now. We can't wait." I nod my head. I didn't want to accept the fact that I was dying but I knew I needed to.
