...

They had finished they're food hours ago at this point. Karl was adjusting to Sapnap, and got more comfortable with him.

They had finished their food and drinks in 40 minutes, but ended up talking much longer.

At some point they had moved to a couch in that same café, and Sapnap had his arm snug around Karl's shoulder to hold him close.

They had talked about anything and everything, and really began to form a bond. Eventually, a question came up.

"What's your favorite quote or phrase?" Karl had quietly asked.

"Tu me mansques." Sapnap responded, seemingly not even thinking about it,

"What?" Karl asked in return, turning his head and lightly giggling towards the man.

"It's French. That's the foreign language I took all through highschool. I can still speak it pretty fluently."

"That's cool. I took Spanish one year, and did ASL the rest. What does it mean?" Karl asked, laying his head on the others shoulder.

"Its actually the French equivalent of 'I miss you'. The cool thing about it though is that instead of just saying I miss you, it's direct translation is you are absent from me. I think their version just holds a lot more meaning." He responded, laying his head on top of the others.

"That's really sweet."

"I always liked it. What's yours?"

"Change what you can't except, and except what you can't change. My counselor in highschool had me come up with a 'mantra' and that's what I chose. I've grown to love that phrase over the years." Karl hummed.

They were both silent for a moment until foot steps approached.

"Hi! Sorry to bother you both, but it's 7 o'clock and we close in half an hour. I wanted to let you know" the cashier from earlier had told them.

"Wow, we've really been here that long?" Sapnap said to no one in particular while sitting up,

Karl piped up,

"Thanks for telling us. Could we get 2 hot chocolates to go before we leave?"

The cashier smiled and nodded, before turning away. Karl had got up shortly after and walked away before the other could say anything.

He payed for the drinks, and then the 2 left hand in hand.

...

They were walking back to Karl's apartment in silence. Sapnap had insisted he walked him home. Eventually Karl started,

"I've had a lot of fun with you Sapnap" He said, gently squeezing the man's hand.

"Nick..." the other man mumbled under his breath.

"What?" Karl asked and looked at him,

"My names Nick. I just never really liked it, so I don't tell people." He said looking back at the man.

"Ok. I can still call you Sapnap if that's what you like better?" He asked as they neared his building.

"It doesn't matter to me." He said finally squeezing back at Karl's hand,

"And I had a lot of fun tonight too. We should go back there again sometime soon." They had just walked into the lobby.

"Yeah."

Karl had stopped in front of an elevator still holding Sapnaps hand. For a 2nd time he looked at him.

"Thanks for walking me back Nick. I appreciate it." He said as the elevator doors opened. He quickly leaned in to kiss him on the cheek, before walking through the open doors.

"Text me you get home?"

"Of course"

And with that, the doors had closed.

Sapnap seemed to like his real name when it came from Karl.

...

It was only 2 hours later that the boys got into a phone call together. Karl said he wanted to clean and unpack more, so he could use the company.

They talked about anything and everything for an hour before and intresting statement came up from Sapnap.

"I've been wanting to get a tattoo for a while,  but I don't know what I'd get." He said out of the blue.

Karl still thinking of their conversation from earlier, said something pretty reasonable.

"Why don't you get that French phrase you like as a tattoo? It has good meaning behind it, I think I'd be nice." He said while putting silverware away.

"Y'know that's actually a cool idea. I like that" He said in return,

"Honestly I'm down to get my quote tattooed on me aswell. We should go together" Karl said laughing,

"I'm down if you are. That sounds fun" the dark haired man replied.

"Give me a time and a place. I'd be happy to do that with you."

"I've been looking at this place not far from where I work. Its called Orlando Tattoo? They have good reviews all around and they do piercings and stuff too."

"Honestly, I'm so down. When are they open?"

"10 AM to 6 PM everyday but Sunday. We can go tomorrow morning if that's not too soon for you?"

"I'm 100% in."

...

The boys discussed a location and font they'd both be comfortable with, and eventually landed on a pretty cursive and going an inch or 2 away from the wrist. While making plans to have Sapnap pick Karl up at 11:30 for Starbucks before they went, the man while still unpacking said he wanted to get his ears pierced aswell.

At around 12:30, the phone line went dead and they called it a night. It would definitely be an interesting Saturday.

...

Someday, we'll have our last conversation
And drink, our last cup of coffee.
Someday, we might be 80.
And think about the different things we used to say.

...

(For the record, I don't think an "Orlando Tattoo" exists, but I could be wrong. The name came from a local place I've been to)
