Ruby's POV:
We finally made it home after the long and painful walk from the forest. We lived in an apartment complex with other people from the canon series like team SSSN, FNKI, and CFVY. My team and I lived together along with Oscar, while team JNPR lived down the hall.
The apartments were surprisingly spacious, or maybe that's just ours. The kitchen is left with a big table to eat near the wall when you walk in.
There's also a granite island where we can eat, like booths at a restaurant. The living room was next to the dining room. There are two hallways leading to different rooms.
The hallway to the west has to my room on the right side. So Oscar was across the hall from me, Weiss was next door, and Blake and Yang shared a room across from Weiss and next to Oscar. The other hallway was where Jaune's team slept.
Jaune had a room to himself; Ren's room was across from his, but Nora always hung out there, so it's like they shared it, and Pyrrha lived next to Jaune, and Nora was supposed to live across from her, but like I said she was always with Ren. Pyrrha hadn't been feeling well the past few days, so she didn't go on the mission with us today.
"I'm so tired," whined Nora as she tossed her hammer to the corner and plopped on the sofa.
"I'm calling it a day," said Yang.
"Me too," yawned Blake.
"I'm going to take a shower, get myself something to eat, and sleep forever," said Weiss, tired but focused on being a neat princess.
"Well, not forever," said Oscar, rubbing his eyes, "we still have to plan Ruby's party. It's on the 31st and today's the 30th."
"You remembered?" I asked, smiling, that he remembered the date.
"Well, of course, I remembered. Birthdays are important. Especially during these times when the Grimm is more active, we need to hold onto our happiness, especially so they aren't attracted to big populations because of negativity."
He was right. The Grimm pools were almost empty, but that didn't stop them from spawning, and because of that, they were getting more intelligent and more aggressive. Even the ones in Atlas were starting to adapt to the cold faster than they should, so the military was on constant guard.
"We should make this a special day for you, Ruby," he said with a smile that made me blush. Thankfully no one noticed me. Everyone headed off to their rooms to get cleaned up and sleep. Nora was asleep, so Ren had to fireman carry her to "their" bedroom. That just left me at the kitchen island and Oscar on the couch.
Oscars POV:
"Ok, Oscar, you can do it." I said to myself, "it's just you and her. No one else is around." So I stood up and nervously walked to the counter where Ruby had her head down in her arms. I sat in the chair next to her and stared at the wall.
