Ruby's POV:
"Uh," I said, watching my boyfriend and Blake embrace, "what's going on with you two?"
"Oh uh," Oscar said as they quickly separated, "nothing, it's uh nothing. We were chatting, and things took a sentimental turn."
"What were you talking about?" asked Yang.
"Oh, just about people we love," said Blake, "and about how our friends are important to us."
"Uh yea," said Oscar, "we were talking about how the people in our lives mean so much to us, and we'd do anything to keep them safe. Even if it means being...akratic."
"What's aquatic?" I asked.
"Akratic," he said like he was trying to remember, "is when you have...uh...oh, it's when you're kind of weak-willed to do something, and you act against your better judgment. We know killing people is wrong, but you might be resolved to do it even knowing the consequences."
"Huh, ok then...so uh, Oscar, can you and I do what we had planned today?"
"Oh yes, we can do that now. I'll see you later, Blake."
"Yea," said Blake shyly, "I'll see you later too."
I took Oscar's hand and pulled him out of the room and into mine.
"Ok, what was that about," I asked him.
"What was that about," Oscar asked cluelessly.
"Why were you hugging Blake? And what was so important about discussing friendship that you had to leave me for Blake?"
"Uh, well, it uh...its...its a personal thing that Blake wanted to talk about, and I sort of...knew something related to it, and I kind of connected the dots, and now we both know about it."
"What is it?"
"Uh, it's something you should ask her about; it's not really my place to say."
"Oh, uh, ok."
"So, Ruby, what did you want to talk about?"
"This," I said, grabbing his cheeks and kissing him.
Blake's POV:
"What were you and Oscar doing," Yang asked me.
"Just talking about our loved ones, and... I got a little emotional," I said, trying to hide my scroll, "Oscar was talking about...how he misses his aunt, and thinking of family made me...think of...you and how we're engaged and how much I love you. So I hugged him, and then you two walked in and ruined the moment."
"Oh, sorry, I guess. Listen, I just got a call from the hospital. Sun's doing better, but he's been going in and out of sleep for a while. At most, we can visit him in 3 days, but other than that, they say he's gonna be fine."
