How he asks you out

■James Potter■
James had been following you around for weeks now, harrassing you. Annoying as it was, you had to praise his determination, even if that had led to your current situation. Lily had left you alone once she realised he was coming, so you were stuck in a corner as James tried to get you to say yes.

"Please, pretty please, I'll even put a cherry on top. Please go to Hogsmeade with me, you have to, me heart will shatter if you don't."

"Oh my Merlin, if I say yes will you stop tailing me everywhere?"

"Yes," a huge grin spread across James' face, "I'll meet you by the common room for 10, that works for me and you I think."

"It does, how do you know that?"

"Well, I--"

"Never mind, I don't think I want to know. Can I go to Potions now please?"

"Of course...date."

With a groan, you set off for your next lesson trying to convince yourself one day was worth a lifetime of peace.

■Sirius Black■
You stared out across the Black Lake,  your hands full of sweets and your mind free of worries. You felt someone sit beside you, and lean back against your favourite tree.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?" You asked to get them to talk and reveal who they were.

"Not as beautiful as you."

You laughed, allowing a smile to form on Sirius' face, "It's my favourite place to come."

"Hey," Sirius began, already sounding smug for thinking of it,"when I look into the Mirror of Erised, I see you and me going to Hogsmeade together."

"Well, lucky for you, I'm free to go to Hogsmeade this weekend, even more free for you."

"I'll come find you after breakfast then?"

"Yep, perfect,"

"I'll see you then, then."

You stand and begin to make your way back to the castle with a new bounce in your step, pausing to say goodbye back.

Sirius carefully filed away the information you had given him, feeling just as elated as you.

■Remus Lupin■
You'd met a few times after that first encounter, and Remus kept finding himself staring at you, much to the amusement of his friends, who constantly bugged him about asking you out.

"Come on Moony, you obviously like them, just admit it, in fact admit it infront of them, that would be ideal wouldn't it Padfoot?"

"Yeah, it would speed up this process."

"I'm not going to do that, they probably don't even like me, and even if they did, it's not safe."

The two other boys exchanged a look.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking,"

"I think I am."

"Oh Godric, what are you thinking?"

The next day, you were sat in the courtyard doing homework, when the one and only Sirius Black came and sat bext to you.

"Can I help you?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I don't know, can you?"

"I dont know, that's why I asked you."

"Well, I was wondering how you felt on werewolves."

You blinked a few times in confusion. The first time he was speaking to you was to ask you a strange question. "I think some of them are bad, but most of them are misunderstood and have had this life forced onto them."

"Wonderful, and are you free this Saturday?"

"Umm... yeah?"

"Perfect, because Moony here, would like to take you to Hogsmeade."

An out of breath Remus had just appeared to here the last sentence, and a panicked look spread across his face.

"Sirius! I'm so sorry about him, you can ignore him if you want, I think a lot of people do that." Here Sirius looked indignantly shocked.

"Don't worry about it, I already kinda do." Sirius let out a gasp of betrayal as you said that, "I'll see you here Saturday morning, I expect we'll be going to Honeyduke's?"

Remus stuttered out an awkward yes before you left, leaving two very smug boys, and one blushing mess behind.

■Regulus Black■
You'd become close friends after starting school, spending time together to read, play quidditch, or even to complete homework, as, despite its tediousness, you managed to enjoy it together.

It just so happened that you were sat in Transfiguration when Regulus plucked up the courage to ask you out. He'd been practicing the spell for months now, and the worn piece of paper was dog-eared and well used.

You were furiously scribbling down notes, trying both to not make eye contact so as to be an option for answering questions, and actually remember anything from the lesson, when a paper bird flew across the classroom to reach you.

After carefully unwrapping it, you read the slightly smudged ink asking what was really a very simple question.

Dear Y/N,

Would you go to Hogsmeade with me this weekend?

~R.A.B

Just as you finished reading it, someone plucked it from your grasp, and you saw Professor Mcgonagall stood beside you. Looking down at the paper through her glasses, she seemed to be deciding whether to talk about it, and ultimately she decided she should.

"So," the older women started,"did you say yes?"

"Oh, well, umm, yes?" You managed to stutter out a question at the Professor strange reaction.

"Good, correct answer, in fact 5 points to Y/H/N. Anyway, now we can continue my lesson." As she walked up to the front drawing the class' attention with her, you were left in a state of confusion.

However, when you turned in Regulus' direction, you saw a grin painted onto his face, and his eyes seemed brighter than normal. A smile appearing on your face as well, you turned to the front to try and concentrate, ignoring the butterflies in your stomach as you felt his eyes on you.

■Tom Riddle■
He didn't ask you. Tom Riddle does not ask for things. No. He told you.

You were sat in the slowly cooling common room on a Friday evening reading up on all sorts of curses. Tom had mentioned them in your last conversation and they had sounded pretty interesting, so you'd decided to find out more.

You'd assumed everyone was asleep, so the door opening made you look up in shock. In the door stood Tom, remaining there for longer than necessary, undoubtedly trying to be dramatic.

"Tom." You only ever really exchanged short greetings or long, thought-provoking conversations.

"Y/N" You believed he would head up to bed, and it confused you when he sat beside you. "I can recommend some other books on curses if you want."

"Oh, thanks. That would be helpful. In fact, would you happen to know much about how protected basilisks are from curses. Only it never really goes into detail about curse specifications."

A grin spread across Tom's face, strange only in the fact that it had never truly been seen before. "I do happen to know quite a bit about that. You know what, I'll show you some good books tomorrow. We can go to the library, and we can ask Professor Slughorn if we can go into the restricted area, for research purposes only, obviously."

"That sounds good, thanks Tom." You replied, surprised at how fast it was for plans to be made.

As he left, he said three words that made it make sense.

"It's a date."

But before you could respond, he'd disappeared into the dormitory corridor.

Fun fact
There's enough gold inside the earth to fully coat it.
