Maria smiled out at the village of Encanto. She saw children out playing and parents working in the market selling things.

"Maria! Look what I've done!" Pepa excitedly called. In the farmer's field, there was a mini cloud hovering around, although the weather- controlling girl was obviously thrilled.

"Congratulations, mi flor!" Maria hugged the girl before she ran off to take care of her cloud.

"There you go Senior!" Julieta smiled at a man as she gave him an arepa. She was standing in front of a long line of people with a variety of injuries.

"Great job, Julie!" Maria grinned, and the village doctor put her thumb in the air. Finally, Maria went off to find her amazing Madrigal.

"I'm sorry Señiora, I- I didn't make this happen!" She heard an exasperated voice shout.

"It's all your fault! Your sisters are much more useful than you!" Another woman cried. Maria ran around a corner to see Bruno cowering behind a pot plant as a young girl with a sandal in her hand scolded him.

"Espere! Señorita, what has this boy done?" She called out.

"I shouldn't have to answer to you, Miss Rojas!"

"Ok then, me and my friend here will be leaving now. Thank you. Adiós!" Maria grabbed Bruno's hand and pulled him away from the woman who stood stiff in anger.

"Gracias Maria!" The boy sighed.

" What did you tell that crazy woman?" She asked.

"Well, yesterday she asked to see her future." He explained "All I could see was her holding a fish bowl with the fish dead in it. I told her and she just rolled her eyes and laughed. But today, her fish did die, and she thinks I killed it." Maria laughed loudly.

"Well, I've done my chores for today. Have you?" She said. He nodded happily.

"Hey, Bruno? Could you maybe read my future? Please?" She begged. The boy hesitated and slowly nodded much to the delight of the little girl.

"Ok, fine. As long as you don't get all upset with me too!"

"I won't. I promise. You can't control the future, you just see it." She agreed.

------------

After the long trek up the stairs, the boy prepared as Maria excitedly watched.

"Could you give me a hand with lighting these leaves?" He asked. The girl calmly poked the four piles of leaves which immediately set themselves on fire. Bruno took a deep breath, closed his eyes and reached into his pocket. Me took out a handful of salt and threw it over his shoulder. Maria smiled.

"You may want to hold on." He said as the wind in the room began to pick up and he opened his eyes which had turned the same green colour they were on the night he got his gift 10 years ago. The sand flew into the air and surrounded the teens. Maria held on tightly to the boy, and kept her eyes tightly shut. She could hear him suddenly take a sharp inhale. The room stoped spinning and and a jade slab appeared in Bruno's hands.

"Hey! What does it a say?" Maria called, but the boy had ran out of the room and held the slab over the edge of the stairs.

"What? Is it bad?" She panicked. She grabbed his hand just before he let go. Only for her to drop it in shock. It had a picture of herself in a tidy white dress and Bruno in a neat suit, holding hands tightly. They were kissing.

"Wait!" She screamed, running down the stairs as fast as possible. Bruno followed his face glowing red. Maria got impatient and pulled some rope off the side of the walkway and slid down reaching out for the falling vision. She hit the ground sharply with some bumps and bruises. She heard a loud sound of smashed glass, and looked up to her prophesy in pieces.

"Maria! Are you ok?" Bruno puffed as he saw the girl crouching over the glass, holding a piece in her hand.

" I'm sorry, I, I ju-" Maria rushed towards him and threw her arms tightly around his neck.

"I love you." She whispered into his ear. Then she said a very child- inappropriate word and turned to run out the door. Bruno grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him and gently put her hair behind her ear like he did all the time when they were younger.

"I love you too." He softly kissed her cheek as she reached for his hand. Suddenly, the couple heard the sounds of a storm.

"God, I hope that's natural." Maria laughed.

" Hey, what part do you have in there?" She answered by pulling a chipped vision part out of her pocket. It had Bruno's and her own hand held together.

"Do you mind if I keep it?" She asked.

"Of course, mi vida."

"Mi vida?"

"Do you mind if I call you that?" The boy asked concerned, but Maria nodded and they held their hands together just like the picture. They both smiled and looked into each others eyes.

The pair made it out of the room and ran into Julieta who raised a judgmental eyebrow.

"Maria, what happened to you?" She asked.

"Oh, nothing. I just fell walking up Bruno's stairs. No need to get me anything, I'll be fine." She said as she ran off after the boy. Julieta rolled her eyes and folded her arms.

"It's so obvious, isn't it?" She told her sister, who had just come around corner.

"What? Bruno and Maria? Of course it is!" Pepa sighed.
