Chapter Four: The Wedding

Seven years later, Maria managed to propose to Bruno, since she new he wouldn't be doing it any time soon. On the day of the wedding, He was panicking whilst his best men tried to settle his mind.

"Calm down, Bruno!" Félix and Agustín impatiently their brother in law.

"What if she changes her mind? What will I do then? What if I mess up? Wh-" The groom was anxiously pacing the room.

"Listen, Maria loves you. She's the one that arranged this whole thing!" Félix patted his shoulder comfortingly as Agustín lectured as usual. Alma poked her head around the door suddenly, beaming.

"Bruno, hijo, were starting." He gulped.

"Come on, you'll be great!"

"Ok, ok. I'm ready!" Bruno left the room and walked to his place at near the vicar as the music started.

Maria stood at the end of a long isle in a beautiful white dress, and grinned widely at her fiancé. His sister's were sniffling into handkerchiefs but still managed to give him an encouraging smile. Bruno help out his hand for Maria to take, and the ceremony began, although the couple weren't listening. They were too busy admiring the other. They simply said what they had rehearsed and waited for the end to come.

"Bruno Madrigal, you may now kiss the bride."

"I love you." Bruno whispered and kissed his wife softly. When they broke apart, all the guests cheered. Pepa and Julieta were the first ones to congratulate the newlyweds. The band began a song for the couple to dance to first. They swayed slightly to the music, as they gazed into each other's eyes, Bruno singing along quietly.

"How long will I love you? As long as stars are above you, and longer if I can." He span her around on the spot slowly and carefully.

"How long will I need you? As long as the seasons need to, follow their plan." "How long will I be with you? As long as the sea is bound to, wash upon the sand." "How long will I want you? As long as you want me to, and longer by far."

"How long will I hold you? As long as your mother told you, as long as you can." Maria exhaled slowly and sang very softly as well. As the guests watched happily, the couple sang together as they danced slowly around the floor.

"How long will I give to you? As long as I love through you, however long you say." "How long will I love you? As long as stars are above you, and longer if I may."

The song slowed down as the last note played like an echo through Maria's mind.

"How long will I love you? As long as stars are above you."

The guests clapped loudly and they gathered into Casita's courtyard as the band began a lively tune and everyone started dancing. Even Isabella and Dolores, the sisters three year old daughters managed to have a dance with there Tío. Maria made sure to help Julieta take care of little Luisa who was only a year old. Looking at the scene, she realized that she never had been, and never would be as happy as she was in that moment.

Later that night, lying in Bruno's bed, Maria woke up to find that her husband had left. His sandals were still at the door, and there was a pile of salt outside the door. Maria got out of bed and saw the glowing green light coming from the vision cave. She went to investigate and saw Bruno sitting confused staring at a vision.

" What is it? Can't sleep?" She asked. He nodded, but still looked confused.

"All I could see was the vicar, but bald. Don't think he'll be happy with that." He laughed. He held her hand and she pulled him back downstairs and into bed.

"Don't worry, amor. Just get some sleep for now!" She took the fire from the candles into her palm and settled down next to Bruno.

"Te quiero..." She whispered, resting her head on his chest.

"Yo tambien te amo, querida." He replied, smiling at her, and gently putting his arms around her waist.
