May I say this was very annoying- At the time I had sprained my ankle I had gone to my third appointment (?) at the Orthopedic hospital that I went to for my feet- I am flat-footed due to the muscles in my feet collapsing so at the time they gave me these souls for my shoes to help and made them specifically for me to support my extra bones. But after a while of having them- like 2-3 weeks, they kinda went to waste as I had sprained my ankle!
At the time I was used to hurting my feet but... Spraining it was nothing like I had experienced, I've never even broken a bone! So Spraining it was a surprise. I'm used to having my leg/foot elevated and not walking on it much until I'm okay but with a sprain as most of you know- you have to use it in order for the pain to stop. The thing is with my extra bone moving it was horrid and painful so it was either not move it and it got stiff and painful- OR be in a lot of pain as I walked.
The souls for my shoes just caused it to hurt worse so I kinda just stopped wearing them with the intention to do it once I no longer had a sprained ankle but ended up forgetting them for like- 2 months? And the sprain itself was horrid as even though after the initial pain stopped I still had this one stiff spot on my foot yet I couldn't deal with that for ages as because of my extra bone it wouldn't let my foot have the mobility to well move the muscle and as such just cause me pain in the ankle.
Thankfully that was almost two years ago. But as of recent, I had sprained it once more on my other foot. It was on my left foot this time but since this was after surgery it made it so I was incapable to walk. Well, I say it was a sprain but that wasn't what actually happened.
After a slip up on the brick floor of a building outside, in my school, I landed on it. It was hurting for ages and I was using one of my crutches to walk around. My mom got worried after almost a week and called my doctor. He suspected I had broken my nerves- as since I had surgery it was the most likely option.
He said to go to the hospital's emergency room though just to check it isn't bone damage and luckily everything was okay! The doctor just assumed it was a sprain and advised me to not use my crutches as they guided me to walk in a weird way. However my doctor advised me to stay on the crutch for another week before slowly getting off it- so I kinda did both? when my leg hurt or when I was walking long distances I brought my crutch- and when neither of those factors applied? I tried walking without it.
It was difficult at first and hurt but I got used to it- and now I'm walking again! Kind of- I do not walk normally at all. Hell! a friend of mine can tell it is me from just my regular walking pattern.
But basically, that was some points from when I sprained it- oh also when I sprained it the first time on my right ankle I was walking home over some grass and there was this hole I didn't notice due to grass growing over it- and I kinda feel on it and twisted my ankle- spraining it.
And that was me spraining my ankle- I shall add another update soon enough- this was 632 words!
