"Too much?" You lift your eyes from your laptop and peer across the desk.
You had just read to Levi a possible page from the book he asked you to write.
"Not enough." Professor Ackerman replies blank.
You sigh dramatically.
"I don't know what you want from me." You rest your chin on the desk in defeat.
"I want to see your true potential." Levi responds, he doesn't lift his eyes from his laptop.
"I'm trying!" You whine.
"Tch." Levi scoffs.
"Writing about love is hard when you've only ever experienced it once and that person didn't love you back." You persisted. "Didn't really have a good example growing up to base it off of either."
Levi glances at you from across the desk, then returns back to typing his story.
"You know, I should just hand in one of my parents books." You prop your head up on your hands and rest your elbows on the desk. "It already has my last name on it, how would you ever know." You say sarcastically.
"Just be quiet and write your book." Levi looms.
"Yea yea whatever." You reply.
You begin sarcastically typing on you keyboard, reading allowed as you went— "Once upon a time, a man met a lady and fell. In. Love." You mimic kissing noises as you continue typing. "They had so~ much in common, it was true love!"
"Y/n." Levi cuts you off.
"Hm?"
"The difference between you and your parents—" He closes his laptop and faces you. "—Is that their stories aren't real."
"Didn't you say mine could be fabricated?" You ask. "I think this is a real piece of art."
"Jokes aside y/n.....I know that the emotion you'll convey in your story will be real." He sips from his mug. "That's the difference."
"Why are you so confident me?" You ask.
"Your eyes." Levi starts packing up his things and begins getting ready to exit the classroom.
"Bullshit." You laugh.
"I can see your capability." He rises from his seat and stands beside you. "Good talk."
Levi begins walking toward the giant wooden doors of the classroom.
"Wait." You call out. "Can we do this often?"
Levi furrows his brow. "Do what?"
"Like I dunno... every Thursday I'll bring you tea and we can have lunch and work on our books?" You smile in his direction.
"You're the first person to ask me such a ridiculous question." He doesn't show it, but you notice a small smirk.
"You're lying, you've never had a student want to eat lunch with you?" You laugh.
"Seems everyone else has friends they'd much rather spend their lunch with." He jokes.
"Really?" You look around the room. "So where are yours?"
Levi chuckles before turning back to face the doors.
"Black tea is fine." He says before exiting the room, you smile to yourself and then you pack up and leave as well.
I guess we should backtrack a bit.
To be honest there wasn't much to it but your mind wandered as your feet dragged you down the halls.
