Sal:

For the past few months you start to feel a change in yourself. And so did Sal. He could tell you were more moodier, emotional and that you haven't been eating as much.

You didn't know how to bring it up to Sal or if he would understand. Plus you can't afford to lose him, you felt like you would be nothing without him.

One morning you woke up to the smell of burnt pancakes. You walk down the kitchen to check out what was happening.

"Sal? Don't you have work today?" You ask sleepily now rubbing one of your eye.

"I took the day off, I've noticed how you've been feeling lately and I want to take today the opportunity to make it all about you"

"So you burnt some pancakes?" You point out. He looks down at them, "I'm trying here!"

You chuckle in response, "I'll take over"

"No no, it's fine. I only burnt one pancake, I got this"

You put your hand up in surrender now taking a seat by the dining table. A few minutes later he served you two 'heart shaped' pancakes stacked on top of each other with your favourite toppings.

"Thank you"

"Now tell me what's going on in there" he asks taking a seat poking his head to represent what he was trying to say.

"Sal you don't have to do this, I'll be fine" you say shaking your head. There was a massive lump in your throat and your head felt heavy. Your glad Sal cares about you but you can't tell him your secrets.

"Babe, you're barely eating, you're always angry and sad. I need to know what's going on" he puts his hand on top of yours.

"I don't want you to leave me if I tell you" you now begin to cry.

"There shouldn't be a reason to unless you're seeing another guy"

"It's not that, Sally.."

"What is it? Tell me" he says softly.

"I'm not a girl, I'm a boy"

He doesn't say anything for a moment. He was shocked. You could tell by his face.

"Your going to leave me now aren't you?" You look away avoiding eye contact.

"Hey no, look at me" he gently turns you face towards him, "I'm proud of you for coming out. That must've been hard for you, thank you for telling me. Just next time don't bottle stuff like that in okay? I want to help as much as I can. I will always love you no matter what"

Q:

You've been keeping a massive secret from Q your whole relationship. You've been waiting for the right moment to tell him but there was never a time or place to do it.

One night you came home from a friend's house. You've been telling them all about it and how you could just tell Q what was going on. They told you to just sit him down and tell him the truth. And so you did.

"Q, could you sit down for a second I need to talk to you about something"

He looks at you worried, "yeah sure" he sits on the couch. You sit next to him, "there's no way that I could beat this around the bush so I'm just going to say it. If you want to leave then I'll understand"

He nods his head waiting for more, "okay..." you say under your breath.

"I'm a transgender woman. I know I should've just told you at the start but I was just too caught up in the moment and eventually it was too late"

"Your-so-how?"

"How what?" You ask.

"But you have the right... you know" he waves a hand around your breasts and lower region.

"Surgery"

"Oh, right"

"Is that all you're going to say?" You wonder wanting him to say more.

"Thank you for telling me"

Joe:

"Hey Joe can I tell you something? It's been on my mind for the past few weeks and I think I'm 100% sure about it" you say coming in the living room where he was lounging on the couch with a bowl of popcorn.

He sits up urgently, afraid of what you were going to tell him, "sure" he then pats the empty spot next to him. You take sit, he wraps an arm around you pulling you closer to him. The smell of popcorn and Joe hits your nose.

"Um.." you start off unsure if you should even tell him. Maybe this was stupid, you might just still be confused.

"You can tell me anything, sweetie" he begins to gently rub your arm in circles.

"Okay" you clear your throat, "I'm not 100% female..."

"Okay..." he responds as he now stops his rubbing, "so what are you then?"

"I think I'm bigender. I identify as male, female and sometimes agender. I don't know it's hard to explain" you shake your head leaning upwards as you now put your head on your hands.

"Hey, it's okay" he pushes you back, hugging you tighter, "I love you no matter what gender you are. I think it's awesome"

Murr:

Murr and his friends never understood the concept of being trans or non-binary. They were having this conversation now as you stayed silent.

"So how can someone even identify as being nothing? Like being genderless? It's so weird" Murr says to the group. You roll your eyes.

"Is there something you'd like to say?" Joe asks you, he saw that you had just rolled your eyes.

"Well actually sometimes you just don't want to put a label on it. Why do we always have to label everything? Like wow you have a vagina so you must be a girl" you wave your waves in annoyance. They all look at you in confusion. They then look at Murr, he was staring at me trying to figure something out.

"I'm not sure if you identify as that or if you're defending them" Sal slightly mutters.

"I don't know" you shrug.

"Are you genderless?" Murr puts a hand on your shoulder.

"Maybe" you look away trying to avoid all eye contact, "it's non-binary, by the way"

"Hey, it's okay. It's fine. I'm sorry if I said anything offensive, this whole thing is new to us" he turns you around to look at him as he now gives you a big hug, "That was brave of you to say in front of me and the boys. I'm proud"
