Planes and fast food restaurants. That's what I was surrounded by. My family and I crammed into the little seats left in the crowded airport. There was people buzzing about everywhere. I had never been to this airport, let alone any, even though it's stationed fairly close to my house.
When I was little I would sit on my driveway and watch the planes go to and from the airport. Sometimes I counted them. I became so interested in planes and how they worked that one year for Halloween I dressed up as a pilot. The other kids laughed, but I wore that costume proud. It was just one of my little phases, but it still kind of interests me. Even though, you won't be seeing me flying a plane anytime soon.
My mom nudged my shoulder. "Cara, honey the plane is boarding." My parents were standing up and waiting for me.
"Sorry I was just daydreaming," I said and stood up. Grabbing all my things, I headed over to board the plane.Once I got on the plane and sat down in my seat I looked out the window. It made me so upset that this wasn't going to be my home anymore. Even now, leaving to go live somewhere else, it seems like a crazy idea. Living somewhere else is something I can't imagine.
Life goes on Cara, life goes on.
"Please fasten your seat belts," said a lady over the intercom, "and enjoy your flight!"
"What's to enjoy?" I muttered.
My mom gave me a stern look. "Cara, be respectful, at least for the next eight hours," she said.
"I'll try," I said, "I'll try,"And try I will.
