{Authors POV}
Haruame and Louis were walking side by side on the sidewalk, Julia had ended the call a while ago after getting everything she needed. Haruame felt like if he said anything now that he would blurt out something embarrassing so he is keeping his mouth shut. Louis was busy watching the clouds so he didn’t notice the awkward atmosphere surrounding the two people.
Finally, After walking for a while Haruame found the animal clinic he was looking for. He gently grabbed Louis’s wrist and pulled him along with him since he didn’t know if he should just leave him on the street. Thankfully, Louis allowed Haruame to pull him along.They both entered the Animal clinic and Haruame then let go of Louis’s wrist. Haruame then approached the front desk and told her that he was a reporter and was hoping to do an interview with one of the vets. The front desk lady then checked which vets were on their break before she asked them If they were okay with doing an interview. Fortunately they were willing to and led Harume and Louis to their break room.
Louis was walking around, observing everything while Haruame asked the vets some questions about the clinic. The questions soon started turning into questions about the vets opinions and things like that.
“ Have any of you heard about a Clinic called Metrodome Animal clinic? “ Haruame asked the 3 vets sitting before him. He expected negative comments but these vets seemed to have real hatred towards Julia’s clinic.
“ Metrodome Clinic?! You mean the clinic where they experiment on stray animals?! I heard that the vets there kidnap the animals they test on!! “ Vet #1 yelled, slamming his hands down on the table. Haruame jolted slightly before calming down, “ What about you two? “ He asked the other 2 vets.
“ I heard that The building the clinic is using used to be a mental hospital that used to experiment on their patients. My friends told me that you can still hear the screams of he patients at night “ Vet #2 said slightly above a whisper. Haruame had heard that statement a few times but that one was still slightly rare.
“ Um . . . . My uncle used to work for that Clinic, He said that a few of the vets there were embezzling money and supplies that were in the clinic. He also said that some documents were wrong and that the people running the clinic probably forged some of them and were acting under illegal documents. “ Vet #3 told Haruame, who grew quiet after hearing that. Louis had started paying attention after the 2nd vet finished talking. He glanced at Haruame, who was looking at his lap and was about to say something when Haruame lifted his head up with a small smile gracing lips.
It was a very fake smile but Haruame did it so well that It almost didn’t seem fake. He apologized for taking up the vets time before he got his satchel and walked out the room with Louis following behind him.
The two didn’t talk at all the whole way to the complex. Louis was watching the clouds again and Haruame was staring at the cement. When the two entered the Complex, Haruame once again realized that he had to take the elevator up. He turned to Louis, and cleared his throat to get his attention, “ There aren’t any stairs that go up to the 3rd, 4th, or 5th floors, are there? “ He asked with some hope.
“ No, Unfortunately there aren’t. I’m sorry, Haruame “ Louis apologized when he saw Haruame’s dejected form. Haruame simply shook his head, saying he didn’t have to apologize. He’ll just suck it up and ride the elevator. As they were waiting for the elevator, Louis felt curiosity begin to bubble up inside him.
He turned to Haruame, who was slightly pale already, and lightly tugged on the male’s sweater to get his attention. Haruame looked over at Louis, wondering what he wanted. He tilted his head to side as he asked what Louis wanted, “ Is something the matter? “
