Chapter 5

Katie's POV

I wake up to my alarm clock ringing like crazy.
When I look at the clock it reads 7:55. I immediately jump out of bed causing Em to wake up also. I quickly head to the bathroom to take a quick shower but before I'm in I yell to Em "I'm late please go make breakfast and three coffee's two to go hurry!"

I hear Em groan and mutter something but luckily I don't hear. Once I'm out of the shower I go into my closet and pick out a short white knee length squirt, a blue blouse and a white tank top. I put on some blue shoes to go with the blouse and tank top and to top it off a black purse and I hurry downstairs.

Thankful that my best friend listened to me for once I grab the two coffee's to go and my breakfast and this time I don't have to take a cab because Em noticed how late I was, took pity on me and decided to give me a ride.

"You know this is why you should always double check things."

Ugh I don't have time for her scolding "Em most of this was your fault you kept me preoccupied with all your questions about the Greek god remember?"

She laughs "oh yeah I forgot."

I scowl at her "You forgot that's all you have to say?"

"Yeah sorry about that." She says sheepishly.

"Well thanks to you and your nosy nose I might make it in time so put some speed on it."

I actually did manage not to be late on my first day.

I got there at 8:15 so as soon as I said bye to Em I went inside and headed straight to the elevators.

As the doors were about to close some one shouted wait so I held it open and he hurried in as soon as the elevators were about to close. I turned to look at the man and saw it was David.

"Oh hey David."

"Hi Katie I take it the interview went great since you're back today."

"Well if finding out your boss is that same person you spilled coffee on a few days ago and called him a jerk then yeah let's say it went fine."

He bursts out laughing

"You spilled coffee on him?"I nod "And called him a jerk?" I nod again "And he still hired you?" I nod again.

"Wow it must've been your lucky day he is never that nice or understanding to listen to your reasons."

"Well he said he gave me the job because I look like a hard worker and had a great portfolio."I said

"Well congrats Katie and once again good luck with him we know how harsh he can be but you don't so try not to call him a jerk."

After he says that he starts laughing again and I punch him on his arm playfully.

"Hey that was an accident he got me mad." I try and defend myself but fail as I start laughing with him too.

We stop as soon as his floor comes before he leaves he say "Bye try to have a good day and no calling people jerks." He says I start laughing as soon as they close then stop to catch my breath a few minutes later I reach the 70th floor and head to Mr. Jacksons office.

I forget to knock so when I go in what I see makes me wish I had knocked.

I find Mr. Jackson and some girl making out.

The girl sits on his lap while he's kissing her like there's no tomorrow.

I don't know why but I suddenly feel
sick because what I'm seeing is enough to be sickening to the stomach.
