Chapter 3

Katie's POV

I wake up at 7:00 since I have the interview today. I'm beaming with excitement as I jump out of bed and go take a shower. Once I'm done I get out and go to my closet to pick out the clothes I'm gonna wear. I decide to wear a black knee length squirt, a tank top with a blouse and some black five inch stillitotes.

By the time I'm dressed it's 7:30 so I decide to make some breakfast for me and Em. When I'm done cooking the eggs and bacon and the coffee I leave some for Em and head out.

It takes me about like ten minutes to get a cab and when I finally do it's 7:55.

"Where to ma'am?" The cab driver says.
"Oh Jackson's Co. please, I have an interview today! I'm so excited. I really hope I get this job."

"That's nice Miss." The driver says then starts driving.

I get there at 8:15 so I have fifteen minutes crap! I quickly pay the cab driver and get out.
"Have a nice day!" I say smiling. Rushing towards the entrance I notice how big it is. It's decorated plain gray and it's simple. Once I get inside I hurry to the receptionist.

"Um I have a um interview today with Mr. Seth Jacksons at 8:30" she looks at me and looks me up and down

"Ma'am where do I go? I'm gonna be late!" She then stops and says "Take the elevator to the 70th floor and it's on the office to your left."

"Okay thanks." I say quickly flashing her a smile.

Once I'm inside the elevator I take one more look at the lady and she gives me a pity look. I wasn't expecting that. Quickly looking at the time I see it's 8:20 so I hurriedly press the 70th button on the elevator and wait. It stops and couple of times but only one person got on.

He says "Hi I'm David."

I wasn't really paying attention so I'm surprised when I see a hot guy standing in front of me. He has on a blue suit with a white shirt that's buttoned up but not quite all the way. It  leaves space so you can see his chest I'm staring at him when reality hits me and I realized I haven't replied.

I quickly say "Hi my name's Katie." He laughs and says " You look new."

"I am I'm here for an interview with Seth Jacksons."

His face suddenly changes and he too gives me a pity look. "Oh good luck with that."

I then say "What's that supposed to mean?"

He quickly replies and says "He's not a really kind boss if you know what I mean." He winks. When the elevator stops and he's about to get off he says "It was nice meeting you I'd love to get a drink with you sometime."

"Sure that would be nice." I say.

"Can I have your number then?"He replies looking nervous "Sure give me your phone."

He does and I give it to him. I take a selfie of myself and say it as my photos in contacts so he can know who I am. I hand him my phone and he says "What am I supposed to do?" "Take a pic pf yourself duh." I say smiling "Fine but only if you're in it with me." He says "Okay."  After we're done he hands back my phone and leaves.

After he leaves it's just me in the elevator and after a while it finally stops on the 70th floor.

The words he said are still ringing in my head "he's not a really kind boss."

I keep thinking about that until I reach his office. There are big huge doors down the hallway I see one of his secretaries and I go to her desk.

"Um ma'am I'm here for an interview with Mr. Seth Jacksons."

"Okay what's your name?"

"It's Katie Smith."

"Go sit over there on the couch and he'll be with you in a moment."

I go over to a white couch and take a sit.

While I'm sitting this gives me a chance to admire the place I guess he must like the color grey because that's what's mostly there.

A couple of minutes later the secretary comes to me and says "Mr. Jacksons will see you now."

I immediately get up an follow her down a long hallway. When we reach his office she says
"You can go in he's expecting you." I nod and push the big doors open. When I go in his back is facing me.

He says "Sit down."

I nod then realizing he can't see me I go to the chair in front of his desk. When he turns around I still can't see his face because he's looking down. When he finally looks up that's when I start to freak out.

As realization hits me I remember he's the guy from the coffee shop yesterday that I called a jerk. Crap oh crap I hope he doesn't remember me! I really need this job.

Wait why should I be ashamed after all he's the one that got me mad and made me spill my coffee! I decide to play it cool and pretend it never happened.

He clears his throat "Miss can I see your portfolio?" I quickly get it out and hand it to him making sure our hands don't touch.

He still hasn't looked at me even when I saw his face he was busy on his Mac book. I sit patiently as he goes through my portfolio.

When he's done he finally looks at me shock on his face and says "You're the girl from the coffee shop who spilled coffee on me and called a jerk!"

I'm too afraid to say anything so I just nod my head not meeting his gaze.

"Look at me!" He says in a stern voice. He continues to speak "Who would've thought we'd meet again." This time his voice was more calm. A smirk appeared on his face. "Even though you spilled coffee on me and called a jerk I'm hiring you because your portfolio was fantastic and I can see that you're a hard worker, but if you ever call me a jerk again you'll have to face the consequences got it?"

I quickly nod my head.

"Good now you start tomorrow be here everyday at 8:30 and have coffee for me waiting on my desk and then I'll tell you what needs to be done for the day."

"Um okay anything else sir?"

"No you can leave bye." He says not giving me another look.

I quickly get up and exit his office but then I forget that I don't know what position I am so I turn around and go back in he looks up at me and says

"Ugh you again? didn't I just dismiss you?"

"Um yes sir, but I forgot to ask you what my position is?"

"You're my personal assistant anymore questions?"

"No sir."

"Okay see you tomorrow."

"B-bye sir."
