The rest of the dinner went well. Joseph kept cracking jokes, gradually turning his wife angry. Though that made the evening even more interesting, seeing that the Luna was phasing through being pleased and the next moment, being upset.
In the morning after, Selena slept soundly after Nathaniel noticed her feet hurting from her heels. He carried her on his back all the way from the elevator to her room.
Selena awoke from her slumber late in the morning. She didn’t find Nathaniel next to her. Nathaniel was pacing around the room, carrying her clothes that he had folded.
She raised herself off the bed, rubbing her sleepiness out of her eyes.
“Love?” she murmured groggily, following her mate through her eyes.
He turns to her, smiling widely as he paused in his tracks. In his hands were Selena’s underwear, neatly folded and stacked.
“Good morning.” He says. “The wolf from yesterday, Claire. She dropped by earlier and said there was something you both needed to discuss.”
Nathaniel continued across the room and placed her panties, along with a couple of her bras that she uses while training in a drawer that wasn’t there before. Selena flushed and staggered to push the duvet out of her way.
She looked at him in utter shock and disbelief.
Her eyes frantically looked around her room, finding it clean and organized. There was new furniture placed around the room. A new couch, a table with two chairs, a second cabinet, shelves, and a bedside drawer. Even the windows were draped with new blinds.
She almost couldn’t believe she was staying in the same room. Or maybe she wasn’t, and that he carried her into a new one.
“What the…? Nathaniel, did you do all of this?” She furrowed her brows.
“Oh, uh, yes. I did.” He answered.
“You sure woke up early, didn’t you?”
Though it still confused her how fast and silent, he was able to haul all of it in the room without waking her up.
She glanced at the shelves, seeing her stash of cup noodles displayed as if they were in the store. Their eyes connect and Selena blushed even more. She had purposely hid her noodles under her bed so he wouldn’t see them.
With his sly grin, she could tell he was hiding his reaction. Noodles were cheap, although that did not mean it was healthy. Especially to wolves who aspired to be spies.
“About that-” He looked down.
“Nathaniel, please tell me you didn’t stay up all night.”
He laughs, hiding his nervousness.
“I did, actually. My wolf is happy, moon. And when it’s happy, it’s restless. Restless means I can’t sit for a minute. I just need to blow off some steam healthily.”
Selena crossed her arms over her chest.
“Really?”
Nathaniel nodded.
“What I mean to say is, I’m just excited to be here with you.”
Something caused Selena to think it was more than that. And the reason made her wolf swoon.
She didn’t drill him further.
“You didn’t pay for all of this, did you?”
Knowing Nathaniel, that was a question with an answer. She glanced at the corner of the room, seeing a rack of his clothes. His suits, pants, and even his ties were there, too.
