Ri, is now a week away from her due date. We are so excited to meet our puppies. And Ri, oh this woman is so beautiful pregnant. I can't get over her cute and sexy swollen belly. She has a glow about her.
We are laying in bed and she's still sleeping. I pull her closer to me and place my hand on her belly and rub it. I soon feel the puppies kicking and can't help but smile.
For the last couple of weeks, we've had a healer come over every day to check Ri and make sure everything is okay. I also asked Thor to come over and help with the nursery so Ri wouldn't stress over it.
I finally get myself out of bed and head to the kitchen to make some food. As I'm cooking I hear Ri starting to get up and take a shower. All of a sudden I hear her scream "PAUL!" I hurry up and turn the fire off the stove and run up to her.
She is in the bathroom leaning against the sink holding her stomach. I look down to see a puddle of water around her.
"The babies are coming. Get the healer here now." She says.
I hurry up and call Thor. "Hello."
"Hey I need a healer now. Ri's water just broke."
"We will be there soon. Keep her calm and relaxed as much as you can."
I hung up the phone and went back to Ri.
"Okay baby, I'm going to get you in something for comfortable and cool for you okay?" I tell her. She nods her head and looks at me.
"We are having our babies Paul." She says with a smile and tears in her eyes. I wrap my arms around her and place my forehead against hers. "Yes we are. You have done such an amazing jobs at growing our babies and will continue to be an amazing mother." I say giving her a sweet kiss.
After 10 minutes Thor, Ava, and another healer show up. The girls work on getting Ri comfortable and ready. While I stand back until Ri needs me. Thor is standing next to me and pats my back. "You ready to be a dad?" He asks me. I laugh nervously but it turns into a smile of pure happiness.
"Yeah I am actually. I never thought I would have this. A wife, and kids. After losing Angel I didn't know if we'd ever get to have kids again but here they are. Our little bundles of blessings. I may not be a perfect dad but I will try to be for them." I tell him watching my wife.
"You will be a great dad Paul. You got this. You have Ri to help you, me, and everyone else that loves you." He says.
A few more minutes go by and Ava comes to get me. "Alright you ready to have your babies?" She asks as I go and sit behind Ri to support her. We both nod our heads yes.
"My sweet Ri, you can do this. We can do this okay? In just a little bit you'll get to hold your babies you just have to push through this hard part first." I say kissing her head.
"Alright Ri, it's time to start pushing." Ava says.
As Ri begins to push she's screaming and it is breaking my heart seeing her in pain but I know that will go away when we see our puppies. After a long 5 minutes, Ri gives one more push "here's your first baby, the little boy." Ava says.
When we looks at him Ri let's out a sob "oh he's so beautiful and handsome." She says. The other healer comes over to take him and get him cleaned up. I'm watching her ever move as my wolf is on edge knowing my baby is with someone else.
But I got back to focusing on my wife when she starts to scream again. Our little girl took longer to get here but after 25 minutes, she arrived.
Ri was exhausted by the time both kids were born. Ava and the healer were finishing cleaning up the babies and Ri and brought over the pups. The gently placed them in Ri's arms as I was still behind her holding her. My wolf hummed in satisfaction knowing the puppies were in their mothers arms with me close to them protecting them.
Once we held them for a little longer, the healers came back to take the kids and continue to make sure everything was okay. I took the time to get Ri up and help your clean up. I carried her into our bathroom and got the water started. She was so exhausted that I got in with her and cleaned her up so she could relax.
When I got her all cleaned up, I dried her over and put her in her favorite sweats and a lose top to move around when it's time to nurse the kids. I took Ri back in the room where the healers where.
"Are you ready to try and nurse them?" Ava asked.
"Yes I am." Ri said with a smile.
I made sure Ri was comfortable in her sitting up position and helped adjust her shirt. Ava brought the kids over and one at a time helped the babies latch on. And boy did they latch on to her.
"Wow, they are going to town." I say. Ri giggles at me and looks back down at the kids. "
You know, you were beautiful when I met you, and you were beautiful when you were pregnant, but baby this right here, hair pulled up, sweat pants, and feeding our puppies has got to be the most beautiful thing you have done and the most beautiful I've ever seen you." I say kissing her head.
She looks up at me with tears in her eyes "I love you my king"
"I love you my queen."
About 30 minutes go by after feeding the kids and Ri is holding our little boy and I have our girl. There was a knock on the door and we looked to see Thor standing there.
"I came to see the little ones. I'm glad everything went well." Thor said.
"Thank you uncle. Would you like to meet them?" She asks. He nods his head and walks over.
"Uncle I would like you to officially meet Atlas Loki Anthony Lahote and Dakota Frigga Rain Lahote"
