How dare you! Creatures your kind are a danger to human lives, so of course you deserve to be killed. The village head shouted, landing another stab to Wuxian’s body.
Wuxian laughed. And you think you deserve to live! People like you are the ones who deserve to die. Heartless beings like you, deserve a punishment more painful than you can imagine. Those creatures you killed without mercy, don’t you think they deserve to live too?
Shut up! No matter how you say it, a monster is still a monster. Just like your parents, you deserve to die. All of you are monsters. The old man shouted, which made the werewolf’s eyes widen.
What did you say? He looked straight into the man’s eyes, glaring at him. You should have seen your mother’s eyes. It was filled with fear from watching your father being tortured by me. The old man laugh.
Wuxian fumed in anger, hearing those words. The man in front of him was the culprit. He was the reason why he lost his parents. His mind was filled with a lot of thoughts.
Alright! You want to kill a monster, then I’ll show you one. Wuxian uttered, before breaking the chains around him. H- how? All of their eyes widen.
His mind was now blank. All he wanted to do now is to seek revenge. He approached the village head and immediately grabbed his throat, raising him up.
All of them shivered in fear, especially when they met Wuxian’s glowing blue eyes, glaring at them. You deserve to die! He spouted, before tightening his grip around the old man’s throat.
Wuxian, stop! Someone suddenly shouted, bringing the boy’s consciousness back. Death isn’t enough to punish his sins. The man said, approaching him.
He managed to calm the werewolf and the villagers down, then approached the old man who is panting. Death is not a fitting punishment for you. He uttered, before walking back to Wuxian’s side.
Some villagers retreated due to fear, but the old man didn’t. He still wanted the werewolf dead, so without anyone noticing, he silently crept up near him. Luckily, the man noticed this, so when Wuxian was about to get stabbed, he pushed him out of the way.
At the sight of blood flowing out of his father’s body, Wuxian almost killed the old man, but he was stopped. “Wuxian my dear boy, please don’t weep. It was my responsibility to protect you with my own life, but alas, looks like I can’t do that now. Leave this village at once, but remember to always be kind to people you meet, human or supernatural being. Even when I’m gone, continue to help those who are in need.” The man struggled to say, as more blood came out of his mouth.
No, no, please don’t leave me. You’re the only one I have left. Wuxian cried, holding the man’s hand. The man just smiled, before finally closing his eyes.
The following day, Wuxian left the village, wondering around. Just like as his father told him, he helped those who are in need without asking anything for return. Although sometimes, the ones he saved would insist on giving him something, despite him refusing, but would always end up accepting them in the end.
Later, the name Wei Wuxian became known. Form the day he left his old village, he wore a mask to hide his identity. He started using the surname Wei along with his name, in memory of the man who saved his life.
