"William Adam Smith?" The leader said, curiously. "Y-Yeah." I stuttered. "We're passing through to g-get to the highest m-mountain because we have a m-mission to restore th-the daughter of a god and g-goddess." The leader walked closer to me. I was shaking in fear. "Welcome to Death Town!!" The leader said, welcoming me, Eve, John, and James into her town.
"I am Grace Lee, the leader of this town. We normally don't allow people from other towns in our town because the last time we did... Well, let's just say it didn't end well for us," she said. "I have a question," I said. "Yes?" Grace asked. "Normally women aren't leaders. So how did you become the leader?" I asked Grace, genuinely confused. "Well, let's just say that we always had male leaders and they chose the wrong choices for us, so they made me the leader and found out that I'm the best leader for their town," Grace said, looking at some men with spite.
"So do you think you can help us? We packed water and food, but it went missing along the way here," I said, ashamed. "Of course! We'd love to help you!" Grace said. She took us from shop to shop, buying us plenty of food.
"Now for the water!" she said, grabbing a few canteens we had bought at a shop. She took us to the well in her village and filled our canteens up with water.
"Here you go!" she said, handing us our canteens. We took our canteens and were sure to put them in our bags. The crystal fell out of my satchel. Grace immediately picked it up.
"Hey!! I need that!" I said, trying to take it back. "I actually need it more than you!" Grace yelled, taking out a sword. I saw a sword stuck in the ground. I ran to it and grabbed it. I took it out of the ground without any effort and it started glowing. Grace and everyone in the village bowed down to me. Including Eve, John, and James. I was confused. I walked over to Eve and asked what was going on.
"You don't know?" Eve said. "No, I don't. What's going on?" I asked. "You're the one person who is actually worthy of that sword!! Not even any god has been able to wield that sword!!" James explained.
I looked at the sword in awe. The blade was of a baby metallic blue, the guard made of gold jeweled with diamonds and emeralds. The pommel was also made of gold, jeweled with a large sapphire on it. The grip was ever so soft but firm at the same time. Then I turned to Grace and told her to give me the crystal back. She gave me the crystal back and I was given a scabbard to hold the sword. It was just as majestic as the sword.
"I am ever so sorry for the trouble, sir!! I didn't know that you were worthy of the Sword of the Gods!!" Grace apologized as I put the sword in the scabbard. I didn't say anything. I motioned Eve, John, and James to follow me and we continued our way to Mt. Olympia.
"That was kind of rude of you," Eve said. "Yeah, Eve has a point," James said as he grabbed an apple from his bag. "Well, what was I supposed to say? 'Oh thank you for the apology you can take my stuff whenever you want and I totally won't kill you?'" I said, being sarcastic. "No, you could've at least thanked her for the apology and told her her actions always have a way of coming back to her," Eve said, being mad at me. "Whatever. We got out of there, so let's continue," I said, starting to get annoyed.
John tried to keep everyone positive. But no one wanted to be positive or happy because of what just happened. Especially me. I needed the Crystal of Life to bring back Eva. I looked at Eve and saw that she was upset. Really upset.
I turned around and looked at Eve, smiled, and said, "Y'know, anger isn't a good look for you," Eve looked at me and didn't say anything.
I sighed and said, "Eve, you can't stay mad at me forever. I know that I didn't accept Grace's apology. And that was wrong. But Grace can't take the Crystal of Life either and you know that. So I'm sorry for not accepting her apology. But we've gone too far from her town to turn back and accept the apology. Besides, it's getting dark, so we should find a shelter."
