Tuesday
I woke up around 9 in the morning to a text from Allison saying she was sorry to leave me yesterday and I was welcome to come have a bagel with her.
I wasn't mad and I make sure she knows that it's not her fault, before getting up and dressed listening to a Green Day album that came into my feed
Stenson started meowing at me because he was hungry and so attention starved (A/N; my cat does this, after sleeping with me all night he acts like I haven't seen him in weeks and I don't get it -_-) so I give him hugs and some food while checking my phone
I don't know what I'm looking for, maybe Noah to ask if we're gonna meet up or even my followers to be active, but my phone stays silent and the only sound it the fucking rain
It's always raining, I hate the rain. It's everywhere, literally it's always raining. I don't really even like water in general; oceans, pools, lakes, I've just never liked it.
I feel sluggish, and tired, and trapped. It's dumb, I know, maybe it's this book thing. I'm not sure. I wish I had other friends who wrote, they could help me out.
Or just other friends. More people
The morning goes by in a blur, with me just leaving in sweatpants and a hoodie; not even having the effort to actually get ready. My laptop in its bag slung over my shoulder and my earbuds in my ears, and I'm off. To the cafe
*
I walked into the cafe to see it with a steady pace of regulars and some new people coming in and out of the door. The smell of coffee and pastries fill my senses.
"Hey" I say as I sit in my seat at the bar next to the cash register and open my laptop, getting to my story doc
"Hey, you feeling ok?" Allison asks, "want anything?" She's the mom friend, for sure. But the mom that gets really excited about parties and shit
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a muffin and a water" I say and get my wallet out, just laying it down; she knows she can grab either the card or whatever cash I have in it.
She goes to the back where she keeps everything that's not the display or needs to be kept cold and gets my water bottle, "you need a break from that story, go out sometimes." She says, picking through my money before grabbing some bills
"No, I'm fine. I just gotta do this twist. I got it" I pop my fingers and go to type but it's like I lose all knowledge of books and English, "I'm gonna cry. Or die. Or just fucking evaporate. Like right now" I say
Allison laughs at my antics while rolling her eyes and goes to help a red headed woman when they walk up to the register. Quite honestly? I'd love to hang out with my friends. But they both had full-time jobs that keep them pretty busy. Im so very lucky to have a job like mine, I am my own boss.
"Im serious about meeting new people. Maybe that's the inspiration you need" she smiles and takes a bite from my muffin, "sorry sweetie, one second" she says when the store phone starts ringing
Where the hell is the rest of her staff?
A guy with brunette hair and thin glasses, that look fake, stands at the register with a guitar case across his back. I've always wanted to learn guitar but I just never had the time. I spend so much time writing I don't really do much else.
He sends me a smile when he notices me looking and I smile back. That's the most human interaction I've had besides Allison and Noah. That's sad.
"She went to the phone, I can help you if you'd like" I say, noticing that Allison seemed panicked by the person on the phone with her
