I run as fast as I can through the Hot Georgia sun, weaving in and out of the trees and softly running against the forest floor.
Atlanta was a major bust, let alone death trap.
I haven't been in contact with anyone in months.I don't even know if I can talk anymore. I slide under a fallen tree trunk and I stop and catch my breath. I sit there and listen to my surroundings. I sigh and I look all around me to see that I was completely alone
I tie my hair up with my lucky ribbon and I open up my canteen to pour water into my dry throat. I hear light moans and groans and shuffling feet."Shit."I croak out,Surprising myself that I could even say one word. I start sprinting again. I stumble across a small cabin near a river and my eyes go wide with excitement. I run over to the cabin and I shut the door and lock it.I slide down against the door and sigh, feeling relieved but the I instantly get back up and check the house for walkers.I walk up the creaky wooden stairs to find two rooms.I open the first door slowly,to find an empty bathroom.I shiver at how eery the house feels.I open the second door to find it filled with one walker. It turns around and I slowly knock an arrow and I let it fly through it's skull. I look at the walker as I take the arrow out of it's skull. It's flesh came loose from it's face when I took the arrow out.I shivered in disgust and I shut the door again.I walk back down stairs and I walk into the kitchen to find a couple of canned foods in the cupboard. I set everything I have, out on the kitchen table and I wipe the sticky sweat off of my forehead with my bandanna.I brush my black hair out of my face and I look in the pantry, finding one bottle of water, three cans of beans, four cans of peaches and syrup and two cans of green beans. I lay out my blanket in the pantry closet seeing as how I'm small enough. I was never a really muscly kid or fat either,I was a really skinny woman, and I'm only twenty-six. I let out a content sigh as I open up one of the tuna cans I scavenged from a grocery store just a couple miles west of the cabin.
I take my fork out and I start to eat some tuna when I hear the door bust open.I freeze,I quickly and silently make my way to the pantry and I curl myself into a tight ball and I make my breathing silent.I hear the heavy foot steps get closer and closer.I hear a can fall over and I see a shadow cast in the shutters of the door.
It slowly opens and light streams in as I find a crossbow stuck in my face.
